  1. View "Last test output" in a panel next to the code editor

After running a test on an Azure PowerShell Runbook, and returning to the code editor, it would be very helpful to be able to keep the last test output open (read-only) in a split-view or popup, while the code editor is active.

  3. Describe properties of a connection

When adding a new Connection, it would be nice to have descriptions or more information for the various required fields - Application, Tenant, Certificate - and possibly a dropdown box for the subscription.

Thanks for posting this! We had considered something similar a while back, but it fell off our backlog. We’ll take another look.

  5. Runbook delegation

Sad that there is no way to grant permissions to a user to create and edit only the runbooks they create or they have access to without giving them contributor access to the whole automation account.

  6. How can I have a job overview about all configured update schedules, job name, which machines, which patch types, when ?

How can I have a job overview about all configured update schedules, job name, which machines, which patch types, when scheduled ?
Minimum an overview about all schedule sets and able to select for edit, delete
Reason, if you build a new schedule and filter and select machines, you are not able to see already in another update schedule or not

  7. Show duration in job summary

In the portal runbook job summary it is difficult to tell how long a runbook needed to finish. Please provide a minutes:seconds duration for a quick glance understanding of execution performance.

Thanks for this suggestion. Right now, you can see the start and end times but need to compute the duration yourself.

  8. Test Pane should pre-populate previous Start Values (like the ISE Add-On)

This feels like a bug in the Portal UI, if for no other reason than the API must support it, and the Azure Automation Add-On for PowerShell ISE supports it as well.

If I create a new runbook in the Portal, add a parameter, then start it with the Test Pane.. if I then switch over the Add-On, and for that same new runbook click the 'Test Draft In Azure' then 'Start New Job' button, the parameter values I entered in the UI are pulled into the text entry.

I created this as a new request because the existing request…

  9. Test Pane says "Saving Runbook". Never finishes. Never displays an error.

I waited 3 hours. Either work or display an error.

  11. Support Windows Server 2008 R2 on update management solution

If we install .net4.8 and PowerShell 5.1 on a Windows 2008 R2 server then we are able to successfully use Azure Update Management to update a non-Azure VM.

Currently in online guidance https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/automation/automation-update-management#clients – it specifies that Windows Server2008 R2 is not supported for the Hybrid Runbook Worker.

Can we add plan to support this kind of OS in update management and hybrid worker ?

  13. Ability to manually enter the webhook expiry date

Currently we can only specify the expiry date by picking a date from the calendar. It would be nice if we could manually enter the year/month/day of the expiry date without using the calendar.

Thanks for this suggestion. Is there a reason that you don’t like the date picker?

  14. Graphical: Add labels to links

Please make it possible to add labels on links in graphical runbooks, otherwise I can be hard to understand logic of the runbook. (Was one of the great features of SCO Classic).

  15. Problem with seeing which Schedule assigned when reviewing the Script

The functionality was there before to see all the schedule's assigned to a runbook, not it just shows Jobs. Could you bring back the option to View the Schedule. Also is it possible to add a column on the RunBook list for the next time it is scheduled.

  16. Patch installed Date & Time and Product details

    In UpdateManagement
1."Update" query doesn't have the details of Patch installed Date and Time.
    2. "UpdateRunProgress" doesn't have the details of Product for Windows machines. where we are getting for the Linux machines.

Hopefully we need these 2 details to be captured in mentioned query

  17. Provisioning an Azure subscriptions cannot be fully automated

Currently there is no way to automate the creation of new Azure Subscription. Partners must be able to automate the creation of subscription.

  18. Module Update Improvements

Modules that are now pretty much essential for DSC are not updated through Update Modules as they're not part of the azure sdk, e.g. ComputerManagementDsc, StorageDSC. Option to update these rather than going to the gallery and importing again would be better.

On the modules page show current and new version numbers if applicable so you know what's out of date.

  20. Bug? Error deploying a PowerShell Gallery module with ARM

When deploying a module from the PowerShell Gallery using ARM with the resource type microsoft.automation/automationAccounts/modules, the import begins in Azure Automation, but fails with the message:

Error importing the module xActiveDirectory. Import failed with the following error: Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Storage.StorageException: The remote name could not be resolved: 'usgeoaasprod1.blob.core.windows.net' ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved: 'usgeoaasprod1.blob.core.windows.net'

Is this a bug in my region?
