Support a service tag which denotes the IP address space for Azure Automation
Currently, we don't support a service tag which denotes the IP address space for Azure Automation service. There are scenarios where a customer would like to allow only the inbound traffic from Azure Automation service by using NSG when a runbook send a HTTP request to a VM. Such customers are requires to whitelist all IP addresses of Azure datacenter. However the customers need to update the settings of NSG every week because there's a possibility that the Azure IP ranges are changed once a week. This requires complicated procedures and high-maintenance. So, it would be great if the service tag for Azure Automation service is supported so that a customer can omit the complicated process, which is updating the settings of NSG every week.
Work is in progress to support a service tag for Azure Automation and related services. Expected release date is end of January 2020.
Any update on this one please?
As a developer working for a healthcare IT company, we have to lock down all of our endpoints to ensure extra security for HIPAA compliance and customer confidence. Not having a service tag for Azure Automation defeats the purpose of using Azure Automation to automate processing of data models. Each time we have a processing error - we have to update the firewall rules to allow yet another IP Address from Azure Automation to have access to our server. It looks like the Automation team was expected to release the service tag at the end of January 2020, yet here we are in June of 2020 and no service tag exists. Any updates as to when this release will happen?
Any updates? End of January was already some time back.
