Why on Earth was this new functionality introduced using the outdated Python 2?
Supporting Python 3 in Azure Automation is work in progress. Updated ETA for a Private Preview would be end of May 2020.

Should we start requesting Python 4 support now considering how long it's taking to get support for 3?
Any updates to if/when Python 3 support will be implemented? This is becoming a problem for my team.

This seems important to consider as support for Python 2 is being dropped on January 1st, 2020.
Azure functions is not the same service as Azure Automation. Some of the management functionality that exists in Automation accounts is very helpful in managing team runbooks that functions doesn't provide.
Please please please upgrade Automation to work with Python 3.
