Alert on Auto Scaling
I've just enabled the Auto-Scaling feature for one of our Websites.
However I miss the option to be alerted when the number of assigned instances changes.
Can you please add an alert feature?
We currently put an entry in the Operation Log whenever there is a Success or Failure in autoscaling. We also send an email on the Failure, but not success of autoscale. The reason for this is it would be extremely noisy – we do many thousands of scale actions in a day.
We may potentially add this as an opt-in only feature in the future, but it’s not on the immediate roadmap.

Seconded - noisy or not, let the customer handle that with an option in the portal's scale settings or email rules or whatever. The resource alerts help here, but until the settings options for alerts are exactly like the scaling rules, we're not going to get perfect correlation. We'd like the auto scale action to give us the option to receive alerts.
I see how this might seem as completely logical to you. Noboby wants "noisy" systems.
It in fact is not.
Because there are financial implications with auto-scaling, the more instances Azure assigns, the more I have to pay, I still feel this should be an integrated feature.
For now I'm either "just to trust Microsoft that automated scaling will not be done, when not needed (I infact already saw this fail. I've witnessed an auto-scale at the bizarest of times and loads) or I'm to check the operation logs daily by hand.
Both not "very 2013" imho.
So pretty please add alerting on auto-scaling asap.
