How can we improve Azure Diagnostics and Monitoring?

Test Alert Notifications

Please add a feature on alerts to test run the alert and send emails etc. for verification purposes.
This would be useful for Service Health notifications that are not yet supported in the new alerts at the time of writing, but also for other Activity Log alerts and metric alerts.

If a setup cannot be tested, it cannot be confirmed to be correct. I consider this as base functionality. Please add asap.

+10 We have setup an alert, which had not worked so far and we don't know why. Being able to "test" the alerts is critical if we want to rely on them. We need to make sure that email notifications are sent and we would also need some tracing capabilities like being able to view the last checks performed (in the past hour/day) so that we can review the condition met/unmet. For instance, if we setup an alert on the queue message count greater than X. I'd like to be able to see what was the message counts retrieved by the conditions at each interval.
