If you haven’t tried the portal in a while please give it a try.
Performance has been a key area of feedback and one where we have been focusing much of our efforts. We’ve been improving performance across all areas, specifically focusing on portal startup, performance of resource blades, and core portal experiences (like All resources). Measurements were done based on real usage (using telemetry) across all users and geographies. We tracked median and 95 percentile for each focus area.
As a result, you will enjoy of a faster experience with the portal. A few numbers:
• We improved portal startup +50%
• On average we improved resource blade (Web App, VM, and SQL) load +300%
Feel free to open new ideas for specific areas where we can continue to improve performance.
Its unbearable to work with some parts of the portal. I get so frustrated I just stop what Im trying to do and do something else. The page doesnt load in several minutes, if at all. Please fix it. Just stop what you are doing and fix the portal.
Portal is almost unusable these days. Huge negative impact on productivity. Please address!
Resource creation/deletion/updates are really slow and may affect team operations. A real big window of opportunity is here.

the portal is so slow and unusable, moving a resource to another group could take like forever.
I noticed that doing any operation on the protal like deleting the resource doesn't consolidate the view, the resource is still there for minute, disappears and then refreshing the view will show it again.
I believe those who are doing the event sourcing need urgent help in their work :)
WTF happend to the promise of availability? Warned not to create VM region/zone, might not work? How am I supposed to deliver premium low-latency services to my customers?
My first work experience with Azure was 2017. Back then I was really disappointed of how slow the portal was. Since then I've been working with Google Cloud Platform and now I need to work with Azure again.
All I can say is that GCPs "Cloud Console" is way more responsive than Azure Portal and maybe more important GCP is way faster than Azure.
Deleting a resource group here takes to long (WTF 1min)? And where is the indicator that job is going on?
It feels a bit like working with Microsoft Dynamics 365. Worst UX I ever touched... (probably some shared components?)

It takes 30-60 seconds to update any change. Could you be kind and drop 0 from these figures, please?
2020, February, STILL very slow, almost unusable.
It doesn't update in real time. It's a joke. Tells me to wait ten minutes. So you can't be sure what the status is of anything.
Feb 2020, still takes multiple minutes to navigate pages... when it doesn't silently fail and you wait for a page to fill in and it never does.

Still terribly slow. 5+ mins to just swap one az function azure slot
Like Pelle said: Still too slow, it’s a pain to use! Waiting minutes over minutes that task get finished.
Uh, this is still an issue. I'm waiting 2+ minutes for various pages to load. Ugh, so slow.
Still very slow between 17:30 and 20:00 in region west europe

Lol, it's still abysmal.
Takes up to 10mins before the portal realizes a server is stopped after, I have shut it down via the Azure portal.
you have to Ctrl+F5 all the time as the inbuilt refresh buttons do nothing.

Nope. You're not there yet.
Browsing my Azure Functions and their logs on the monitor screen is almost undoable. The web application is very slow and often unresponsive.
