Do more in place and use the full screen - avoid horizontal scrolling
Simplify the portal by doing more in place. The horizontal scrolling seems to cause too many, unnecessary clicks, which makes the UI to jump around a lot and quickly becomes overwhelming with so much on the screen at once. It's hard to focus on what's most important and, when there's only one blade, half the screen is empty with critical messages all the way on the other side. Make better use of screen real estate and stop moving things around so much. It's distracting. I love the portal, but all the movement gets in the way. Let us focus on one task at a time and let that use the full screen.
I have to agree. The New Portal is inheriting the busyness of Amazon. Cloud is complex enough, than to worry about what you are seeing or making sense of the pieces. I have been a Microsoft expert for almost 20years, and i understand the Microsoft toolset over the years but this new portal is a actually a turn off. I rather use the old portal even with its limited functionality like missing azure resource groups. (https://manage.windowsazure.com) The old portal was consistent. Sometimes too much functionality(intent of the new portal) is not a good thing.
Guys, whatever you do, please DO NOT kill/disable/remove manage.azure.com, until you've completely redesigned the new portal. Pretty please.

Tim....Thanks for reminding the new folks just how responsive the portal team is and how they like to 'fix' things. I've used the new portal since the day it was released to the public as a preview, almost 2 years ago now, in my opinion not one thing has been done to make it any better. It's all been crutches and band-aids that have really only made it worse to navigate and accomplish real work.
I continue to be amazed that the hole just continues to get deeper.
Thank you for the update Admin. I am really glad to hear that there is the possibility of an improvement in usability.
Just in case anyone is interested, here are just some of the previous suggestions. Between them these have received many times more votes than this one but all have either been marked as declined or completed. Personally, I don't think any of the completed ones have been completed to any degree of satisfaction, as only a minor improvement were made to areas that are woefully inadequate. This pig is wearing a lot of lipstick but it is still a pig.
Hi, Tim. We're listening and we are doing something about this :-) 400 people have voted on this today and that's very important to us. This one in particular is a very big change, so it'll take time, but we're definitely working on it.
Please give up on the horrific design of the new portal.
It is time to let go of the dogmatic approach to implementing the horizontal scrolling blades. It is universally hated as unintuitive, slow, memory hungry, impossible to navigate on screens smaller than 20".
Please can we go back to what we had before. Sure, it didn't have a wow factor but it was simple to use, it worked well and did the job it was meant to. I would guess more hours have been lost by users spending time trying to do simple tasks that were easily achieved under the old portal, than it has taken your developers to build the new one.
Manjia, even if you shout, they will not do anything about this.
Literally thousands of users have complained that the new user interface is one of the most horrible pieces of design ever to be produced but this has fallen on the deafest of ears.
It is anti-intuitive, it does not work at all on smaller screens, it is almost impossibly difficult to navigate, yet, they have invested so much time in it, they will not now start again or even give us the old one back.
Despite all of the negativity, It is a triumph of arrogance over meeting customers needs. It makes the Edsel look like a raging success...
THREE MONTH HAVE ALREADY PASSED, HOW MUCH TIME DO WE HAVE TO WAIT?????
This is a usability disaster. I'm struggling to scroll horizontally to find content. You've defeated the browser's ability to scroll vertically and tried to jam everything onto a very short (horizontally scrolling) viewport. Within this very short view of the portal, I'm expected to scroll horizontally and then scroll vertically in various tiny scrolling divs... ??? This may well be the single worst interface i've ever experienced.
Whoever designed the new portal deserves to be fired.
Azure is one of the most problematics things I've ever worked with. I suggest a much simpler layout and that the entire site be debugged
Avoid horizontal scroll
The horizontal scrolling is terrible. My team will not use the new portal because it's so bad. Doing simple tasks is disorienting.
Never mind, https://manage.windowsazure.com
BAD UI! It sucks! How do i revert back to the old one?
Dear new portal Azure Team
I'm sorry, I've really, really tried but after 12 months of trying to use the new portal I'm defeated.
This new portal is just too hard to use.
The old portal is basic and archaic, but it works. If you can combine the functionality of the new one with the simplicity of the old portal you will surely have a great interface.
"View my bill" was easy to find, now the graphics are unreadable until you find "manage" eventually and that takes you back to the original subscriptions interface anyway
To view web app performance in the old portal I open up "monitor" on one site then click each site on the left scroll to view each site. Really simple, quick and better graphs that can be seen on the display at a glance. The new portal graphs don't fit the screen and you have to start at the root of every web site and open yet another tab to change between 24hr and weekly views.
Overall, the biggest issue and degradation to productivity is working out where you've put day-to-day management functions that seem to be placed to satisfy the way you've decided to lay it out the interface rather than for user efficiency. It is extremely hard to use this interface in a hurry if there are problems with a web app or VM I can tell you.
Please bear in mind that as Microsoft Partner users of Azure our primary purpose in business is to deliver operational web applications to our customers not just sitting around all day waxing lyrical about how wonderful your Azure portal interface is. Just make it work and make it easy to use.
Thanks and have a nice day

Horizontal Scroll is clunky to navigate, I'd like to see a vertical paginated version instead
Inline vertical panes would be easier to navigate and much more integrated with the already available mousewheel
If you could find a way to let users choose, even better..
The new Azure user interface sucks just as bad as the old version.
It looks like a middle school web design class project.
You guys need to go get an AWS account, use it for a while, and make the Azure interface look like that.
Oh, and it's hilarious that this feedback form has options to use my email address, my Google account, or my Facebook account, but NOT my Microsoft account.

The new portal is slow, unresponsive, and generally badly designed. Scrap it ASAP.
Looks like that was an accident. The status update was posted in the wrong place. I reverted the change. Thanks for catching that!
