  1. Improve Portal Performance

The Azure Portal performance is horribly slow! The blades take too much time to load and keep moving back and forward while loading. Switching from one "Blade Flow" to another take about half a minute of loading time.

I know there is already an issue similar to this in this User Voice, however someone from Microsoft marked the task as Completed. Clearly this is not completed or fixed. Our whole company is adopting Microsoft Azure and this is the number one complaint that I have. I can also help replicate it if need be, but I am sure it is…

    Hey,

This is something we’re still actively working on. It has a been a big area of investment and it still is moving forward. We keep investing in performance, both from a client and server side perspective.

We have a few things coming in the near future which should help address some of the initial UI performance issues. We’re also heavily engaged with all of our partners driving a broad effort to improve performance across the portal for all experiences.

If you have any specific areas which are causing pain please feel free to reach out to me or comment and state if we can contact you, it would be great to understand the common pain points.

    Cheers,
    Sean.

  2. Choose the API version in Resource Explorer

Resource Explorer in azure portal often uses older API versions than are listed for the providers. Implement a dropdown-box for die right-side window with all available API versions for this specific REST endpoint.

  3. Allow rename of network interface resources

When creating a VM in the Azure Portal using the ARM deployment model, the network interface is labeled with the hostname + a 5 digit random? number.

I haven’t found a way to change this in the Portal.

In case a customer would prefer to use their own naming convention for interface resources, like <hostname>-ifc, can we consider adding this option to the Azure Portal?

I realize there is likely a way to do this already with ARM templates and PowerShell based deployments, but having this feature also available in the GUI would provide some added flexibility for new customers…

  4. Reduce the browser memory footprint, and elimnate the memory leaks.

There seem to be some rather significant memory leaks in the Portal Dashboard. I've made the mistake of leaving it running overnight a few times, and the browser process working memory use, with the portal being the only browser tab open is often in excess of 1.5 GB. This is with no tiles open. In a few cases, I could not unlock the computer and had to reach across the network to kill the iexplore.exe process before I could gain local access.

  5. Number of results returned

Have the option to set the number of results to be returned on screen on any given blade.

  6. The Language translation bar should put on top of the page.

As many of the individuals are seeking local language pages, people don't know the button exists, which would be better on the top banner, so people can know it and convert it into their home language right away.

  7. More color options for portal

I think it's great for me to switch colors between subscriptions as I have been added to some customer subscriptions so I can set different set of colors based on which subscription is being used.

Currently you offer only 4 different schemes - there should be a lot more plus an option to customize (if I want a pink theme, please let me have it - with unicorns :)) This would be a great visual differentiator between subscriptions as I need to switch between them all the time just to remind me what I'm working with (e.g. green = development,…

  8. Allow us to set the date format on the portal.

Allow us to change the date format. Since not everybody in the world likes using US dates :)

  9. get source assignment of a policy

In the Azure policy blade, it would be nice to have a column showing the assignment source of the policy (and maybe also the management group, if any): if the source is an assigned or unassigned blueprint, then we should be able to follow the link directly (in the portal). If the blueprint was deleted, it should be mentioned as such.

  11. Stick with the old login screen

We would like to opt-out of the new login screen. The new login experience is good for wide-screen monitors with an aspect ratio of 16:9, but not for a normal monitor with an aspect ratio of 4:3. Although 16:9 is becoming the standard, there are still many end users who are still using a 4:3 monitor. The old login screen works well on both 16:9 and 4:3, but the new login screen only works well on 16:9, and looks awful on 4:3.

So, how do we skip the new login screen entirely, and stick with the old one?

  12. Mark "Free resources" in Azure Portal UI

It will be good to see some tips, or labels, for resource which you want to create can be used for free during trial period.

  13. make Service Administrator and Co-Admin the same so that as a Service Admin I can publish from Visual Studio.

I shouldn't have to remove myself as Service Administrator so that I can add myself as a Co-Admin to be allowed access to publish from within Visual Studio.

  14. EA Admin's capability to get all subscription administrators under EA contract in Azure EA Portal

In EA Portal, EA Admin can't get all subscription administrators under each subscription under EA contract. Only Account Owners can see subscription administrators, so to obtain all subscripiton administrators under each subscription under EA, EA admin need to contact each account owners. A request is for EA Admin to be able to see all subscription administrators under each subscription at EA portal

  15. MS Graph from Azure Web/Mobile Backend

There should be a solution for accessing the MS Graph in an Azure Web/Mobile backend. If logging in with server-flow, the token created does not work for MS Graph. If logging in with MSAL client-flow, the token created does not work for logging in with MobileServiceClient. Seems like a no brainer, two great services, make them work together!

  16. Restore back the SKU size scaling of VMSS in the portal

It is way easier to scale a VMSS through the portal rather than going through resource explorer.
Furthermore the resource explorer does not provide any feedback so if you try to scale like this to an unsupported SKU size it just reverts back leaving you to wonder what happened.

  17. allow updates to streaming units without subscription access - owner or contributor

Currently, resource group owners cannot modify/edit the streaming units in streaming analytics without being a contributor or owner of the subscription the resource group is contained within. Either create an IAM role that can be assigned or allow this access to resource group ownerse.

It's too easy to stop a VM by mistake without a confirmation being required

  20. Automatic mitigation policy based on risk type, not just severity

Azure AD Identity Protection reports risks for my users and allows me to set policies based on severity, but not type. I'd like to treat "Impossible travel to atypical locations" differently than "Signins from unfamiliar locations" or "Signins from anonymous IPs" with an automatic mitigation policy, but I can't because those are all considered medium risk.
