Provide API’s to configure, manage and initiate sync
Allow on-premises or cloud-based applications to configure sync groups and initiate syncs.

Hi, Microsoft. Can you please open-source the Sync Agent instead of just letting it die? Then folks can use its source code to hack together their own automation routines. No sweat for you, lots of joy for your loyal customers.

Yes, I hope to configure the sync by Microsoft Flow with no-code

Project is dead?

In environments where we want to allow schema changes we need to programmatic way to so that we can manually push these changes through the sync hub

API triggered syncs are vital to a proper management process. The on premise database is often used to insert data and without being able to retrieve the web initiated data deliberately there is a time window that can result in data contention. Take a bookings system for example. The booking made on the ground could overlap any made in the cloud within the sync window.
Any news for this planned idea? Data Sync is great but it really needs an API!

Really must have feature!
Status is 'PLANNED" since Feb 1, 2012.
What is the actual status of this feature? When can we expect it?!?!
Martin Kurek commented
Must have feature ;)
Yep, we're also waiting on Init Sync endpoint
Any rough idea when this API might be made available?

The ability to initiate syncs would be extremely valuable for occasionally connected clients.
