Change Data Capture
Allow Change Data Capture in SQL Azure
It has been available in SQL server since 2008, the jump to SQL Azure seems logical.

This support is planned for SQL DB Managed Instances:
Thanks

5 years later, still not there? One does wonder if you are updating Azure SQL databases at all...

Any ETA for this feature as this is very useful?

Is this still "planned"? Temporal tables aren't good enough.

@Guy Haycock -- Its does not work in SQL azure.

You can have managed SQL starting at the LOW LOW monthly price of $3500 USD for managed SQL. awesome response to this guys. Keep it up. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/Appendix.SQLServer.CommonDBATasks.CDC.html

Adding to the cries ... we need full CDC in Azure SQL

Totally agree, this feature should be standard for Azure SQL Database, as customers shouldn't have to be limited to something already successfully used on-premises. This type of strategy defeats purpose and any value of moving an organizations on-premises SQL Server instances into cloud. In an ideal world, SQL Server on-premise feature set should be mirrored in the Azure SQL Database offering.

Yes, this is not a solution. We need it in standard Azure SQL Database!

We echo the same sentiments of many of the other comments - need it in standard Azure SQL Databases, not managed

Is not going to help in Managed Instance. Need it in Azure SQL

Thanks for the reply.
It's imperative you understand that this is NOT a solution. Azure Managed SQL is not Azure SQL.
It's unreasonable to expect people to migrate from Azure SQL to Azure Managed SQL just to get change data capture, separate from the fact that migrating from Azure SQL to Azure Managed SQL is a backwards migration path.

We are building an enterprise application in Azure and CDC is an essential part of our solution. Must we really build out own solution when you have the capabilities built in to SQL Server already. I've used CDC and it is great but it does no good to our organization if it is not implemented into Azure soon. What is the ETA on this feature?

We also need this! Is there any plan to release CDC (not change tracking) in Azure soon?

It's been 2 years since this question was asked. Can we please get an update or roadmap for Change Data Capture in Azure SQL (NOT Change Tracking now, we're asking about CDC here)..
