Active Geo replication to different subscription
Customers are looking for this type of feature to replicate data from Prod in UAT/Test. Also to make the database available for third party to separate the costing. Currently custom coding or replication tools are needed, but would be great if the secondary replica can be in another subscription

You can set up geo-replication across subscriptions using T-SQL. It is not supported in Portal because Portal calls ARM and it uses the subscription certificates to access both servers involved in geo-replication. The following articles provide details.

Before moving to Azure SQL Database, I was used to doing weekly restores to Test from Prod via a stored procedure run by an Agent Job. But with them being in different subscriptions, this is difficult to automate.

We have the same requirement. Are there any plans to support this feature?
I have the same issue as well. We need to replicate the read only database for client to use but they have to pay themselves under their subscription. However, I cannot do it today. Hope this will be available asap.
