How can we improve Azure SQL Database?

limit dtu query

when i try via back service to do a background process my dtu reach 100% and my end user suffer. when i try to create/rebuild index the same occur. it will be nice to have the ability to pass via options some command to limit the dtu of that process. e.g. something like maxdop ( which does not work)

Has anyone had any luck with this?...it seems the only option is to scale up. I'd rather not on this occasion :-).

This would be pretty neat. I just ran into a scenario where something caused a big spike. I'd love to see being able to set the DTU limit when setting up a connection (like via the connection string).

Even not for background processing, any online query should set a reasonable DTU so that it will not letting any funky query impact others.
