Provide a way to deploy Native SSRS to a Web App
You have discontinued the PaaS option for SQL Reporting.
The alternative option suggested of running a full version of SQL Server Standard Edition in a VM just to run SSRS when we already are using SQL Database for our data is very expensive. We need to pay for a full SQL Server license when all we really want is an instance of the SSRS Native-mode Web Application. Paying the full SQL Server Database Engine cost is unreasonable in this scenario, and the burden of maintaining an IaaS resource is significant.
Please provide a Web App or Marketplace Service which hosts the SSRS application only. It should host its content database on SQL Database. The license fee for this service should be a fraction of the full SQL Server Standard Edition cost.
With this we can lift and shift our applications into the cloud and take advantage of all your PaaS goodness!
Alternatively, please reinstate the SQL Reporting PaaS service.
Thanks for your feedback here. SQL Database is indeed a subset of the SQL Server box product.

Yes SSRS paas needs to be implemented and with Azure AD and AD. Also, the one option you can consider is "renting" sql, it's a couple hundred per 2 cores a month. Then you could get the price down until the Paas offering some day shows up or Power BI Server is up to snuff with how SSRS works for external customers.
Guy, I don't think your answer is correct here. The suggestion was to reinstate a PaaS offering of SSRS. Maybe this suggestion should be in a different location, but without a PaaS offering, it is substantially more complicated to move web applications that depend on SSRS up to the cloud and still needs to be addressed.
