    1. SERVERS REQUIRED FOR USERS OF PAKISTAN

Please establish servers in Pakistan and Dubai as there are no nearby servers for Pakistan. The minimum latency that we get here in Pakistan is around 250ms which is too high for developing projects and playing online games from your servers.

    2. Monitor ExpressRoute circuit if the private peering is with a different subscription

Currently i cannot monitor the ER private peering if the only private peering is done by redeeming the authorization key on a different subscription. The subscription with ER circuit does not show the peering while the subscription with ER connection cannot see the circuit. Is there a way to monitor the connection in this scenario?

    3. Separate O365 IP addresses from regional Azure IP address ranges

I have an ExpressRoute with Public, Private and MS Peering. Currently Office 365 services are routed via the Public peering.

When I activate a BGP community via route filter for MS peering (in my case the community 12076:51009 for Azure Central US), any users accessing 365 services from the Azure Central US region lose all connectivity. This is because the O365 services (such as login.microsoftonline.com or portal.office.com) are served out of Azure datacentres and the ranges overlap.

Office 365 services must be authorised over MS peering, and the process is unnecessarily complicated and opaque. Until I manage to get this…

Office 365 utilizes the Microsoft global Azure datacenter presence to provide Office 365 relates services to customers across the world. We are working to ensure long-term that the IP addresses are properly allocated to a given service and will align them to ensure that they do not overlap.

If there are any issues with the current setup where some traffic does traverse the ExpressRoute public peering path, please raise a support request and one of engineers can review.

    4. ExpressRoute routing tables should return standardized data

When querying the route tables on a Private Peer (via Portal, Powershell or Azure CLI) the routes returned can vary depending on location - presumably because there are different platforms providing these tables:

e.g. for a default route advertised from on-premises to the MSEE:

      EASTUS2 returns 0.0.0.0
      CENTRALUS returns 0.0.0.0/0/

The different formats make automating route discovery/confirmation a pain - the API should normalize this data so the tables are consistent regardless of the underlying platform's own formatting nuances.

    5. VPN Gateway forced-tunneling

      Hi team,
We can have Azure VNet to default to on-premise Internet. Why can't we have a possibility to use the reverse path: that is use Azure's Internet access for the on-premise network in case the ISP goes down? This is a win-win situation for Microsoft charging for outbound traffic and for customer having redundant path to the Internet using private ExpressRoute.

      Thanks

    6. Allow account credential validation for Storage Account over Express Route

In our environment, we have an Express Route which is configured for both Microsoft Peering and Private Peering. We have a virtual estate consisting of a number of VNETS containing replica networks, primarily used for testing, attached to the Azure Storage area account.

We raised a call with MS that has resulted in this thread. To call the Storage Area account it appears that we must:

      a) Authenticate our user account over the internet

then b) gain access to our storage account and

      c) only then can we upload data over the express route into our storage area.

      We would…

    7. Dynamic Upgrade Problems - NNI at Capacity

We've run into a recent problem where we couldn't dynamically upgrade (from 100Mb to 500Mb) an Expressroute circuit quickly when needed. We were told the MS NNI to our carrier (Verizon) was at capacity. The only option was to re-create the Expressroute circuit and then re-provision the Verizon SCI side of the link (took about 2 weeks). I would like to see Microsoft working with the carriers on a method of dynamically moving connections to different NNI's with capacity if needed. Maybe there is a grooming operation that runs between MS & the carriers that dynamically moves these links to…

    8. Traffic analysis on ExpressRoute connections on top dataflows

If there are many VNET's connected to the ExpressRoute, traffic of one VNET can impact other VNET's traffic. We need a way to see which srcip and dstip traffic is responsible for filling up the ExpressRoute. Current NSG flow data does not include amount of data between endpoints, thus we need another way of analysing top consumers of the ExpressRoute.

    9. Express Route permissions are not configure properly from MS side

This is a permission issue. when a service principal is giving read access on express route circuit, it's able to list all route for private connection using CLI and Powershell commands along with the ability to see it directly from the azure portal. However, it's not able to list the route using Rest calls. This issue basically means that permissions across express route are not configured properly. We need a work around it.

    11. Support macsec dot1q-in-clear on ExpressRoute Direct

If you can add support for macsec dot1q-in-clear on ExpressRoute Direct, it would be EXTREMELY beneficial.

The dot1q-in-clear option makes it possible to use MACSEC over MegaPort using tagged ports. It also makes it possible for MACSEC to transparently flow across Ethernet over MPLS, EPL, and other forms of metro ethernet.

Not supporting dot1q-in-clear drives up our costs and take away quite a bit of flexibility.

It would be even better if you could set up dot1q-in-clear support with connectivity providers.

MACSEC is important because we do not want to trust MegaPort, and MACSEC adds truly negligible latency whereas IPSEC…

    14. express route

Not sure if this is possible today, but I would like to see an option for public peering to have more granularity on the list of BGP communities so we only advertise services that a customer owns. As far as I can see today, through Microsoft peering we will see all public IP in the selected Azure region including those belonging to Microsoft Azure public services, a customer public IP address and any other customer public IP in that region. That means that lot of traffic is routed through public peering. Wouldn't be better to route traffic through Internet to…

    15. ExpressRoute provisioning error

The error that is returned when an expressroute connection is being made that has an IP address conflict is very poor, error returned:

[error] - Resource Microsoft.Network/connections '<Name>' failed with message '{ 'status': 'Failed', 'error': { 'code': 'ResourceDeploymentFailure', 'message': 'The resource operation completed with terminal provisioning state 'Failed'.', 'details': [ { 'code': 'InternalServerError', 'message': 'An error occurred.', 'details': []

    16. ExpressRoute Global Reach Bandwidth

I have some questions about Global Reach throughput which are not clear in the documentation.

      1. In a full mesh of four ER Global Reach circuits, will a lower speed circuit effect the speed of traffic between two high speed circuits?

      2. It stated in the documentation that traffic can burst to twice the ER circuit speed - is this bursting supported between ER Global Reach circuits?

      3. Is active-active load balancing of traffic supported across Global Reach?

Thank you for the feedback. If I understand correctly, you would like us to display the ExpressRoute ASN on the portal so that you do not have access the documentation when configuring the peer ASN – as an easy reference.

      Look forward to your response!

    18. Show Drops in Express Route Connection and VNET Gateway

We had a big outage earlier in the year due to a Gateway going bad in a VNET. We also are frequently asked if there is a “Network” issue where only one VNET has an issue. Many of these issues seems to be with performance issues rather than a total loss of connections. We need a way to track drops in a VNET.

Can Microsoft add “DropsInPerSecond/DropOutPerSecond” to the ExpressRoute Connection graph or the Gateway? This would help us determine if the issue is a Network issue or just and application issue.

      Thanks

    20. Allow Point2Site service on Express Route VNG

All Point-2-Site connection on a express route VNG. Currently this is not possible and you end up having to run two VNG's to have a express route, plus host a Point to Site VPN service.
