    1. Allow OR condition in Rules Engine match conditions for Azure CDN from Microsoft

Allow OR condition in Rules Engine match conditions for Azure CDN from Microsoft. At the moment when you create multiple match conditions, they are combined using AND logic by default. It would be good to be able to choose between AND and OR.

    2. Enlarge the number of Rules in Rules Engine for Azure CDN from Microsoft

Enlarge the number of Rules in Rules Engine for Azure CDN from Microsoft. The current Rules engine allows 1 default and 4 custom rules. Making it to 10 or 20 will help significantly.

    3. Publicize the IP addresses of Microsoft CDN servers

For Verizon servers, all used IP ranges can be retrieved using this API:
      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/cdn/edgenodes/list

It would be very useful if this API would also provide IP addresses used by Microsoft CDN servers. (E.g., for whitelisting purposes.)

    4. CDN Profile Feature (Rename/ Endpoint Migration)

      Hello Team,

Could you please Provide an option to Rename an existing CDN endpoint.

also Provide an option migrate an existing endpoint from one CDN profile to another.

Because, The validation process runs really long so there would be a long downtime of the CDN if we stop the endpoints in the old profile and recreate them in a new one.

    5. Support Let's Encrypt / ACME CA signed certificates

For Azure CDN add support uploading certificates signed by Let's Encrypt and/or other ACME providers. Currently you can add Let's Encrypt (ACME) signed certificates to Key Vault but when deploying to the CDN it fails (rejected).

    6. Signed cookie in CDN

Enable authenticated access to CDN without the need to change URL or headers. This is especially useful for referencing a static web page in an IFRAME.

Scenario. When user signs in to example.com, we would first redirect users to a non-cached page on CDN cdn.com, which would set the signed cookies, before redirecting back to example.com.

On example.com, we have an IFRAME that references a static webpage on cdn.com. The static webpage references other images, JavaScript and CSS on cdn.com. The access to the webpage and other resources are authenticated by the signed cookie.

If you are using Azure CDN from Verizon Premium, you can open a technical support case to have this capability setup for you via the rules engine. Overall you would use the token authentication capabilities in Azure CDN from Verizon Premium to accomplish this – https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cdn/cdn-token-auth. With token authentication the signed token is sent by default in the query string for your URL’s. The capability you are looking for is the ability to instead have the token sent as a cookie in the client request to the CDN.

We will look at enabling this capability long term without the need to open a support case.

    7. Support the proper use of webfonts on Azure Websites using Azure CDN

We need an easy way of setting the http protocol "access-control-allow-origin" on webfonts used on Azure Websites and distributed via the Azure CDN. Please make the CDN service respect http-protocol settings in the web.config file on Azure Websites.

    9. access key vault in another subscription

Currently As per the below doc, we can't access the KeyVault in another subscription.

      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cdn/cdn-custom-ssl?tabs=option-2-enable-https-with-your-own-certificate

      • My certificate + Keyvault is in another subscription. Hence while creating/updating CDN endpoints, I can't select the certificate/KeyVault that is in another subsId.
      • Can you please enable this request, so that we can access the Keyvault in another subscription.

    10. CDN

There needs to be a way to apply service tags to Azure CDN. When applying NSGs or firewall rules it would be beneficial to be able to use Service Tags to target the CDNs.

    12. Make CDN caching optimized for Smooth Streaming

With Smooth Streaming, because of the latency and low bandwidth during the first access of the video (before it is cached by CDN), Smooth Streaming will choose a low bitrate stream, and the higher bitrate streams may never be cached at the CDN edge server because they are never accessed; or if we are lucky it requires at least many replays of the video before all streams are cached. This is a huge problem with videos not frequently accessed.

Therefore it should be possible to force a container to cache all blobs within it as soon as one of its…

    13. Storage Account Firewall IPs for the CDN provider

Currently a user can only keep a blob firewall with the Verizon CDN

To achieve this it requires a user to input 40+ ips/cidrs just to keep sanity on their environment as well as forces them to only use Verizon CDN

The CDN providers IPs should by default, be handled in the blob firewall when a CDN is enabled on a blob.

      Testing:

      1) create a storage account set the blob container to public

      2) enable firewall rules but only whitelisting your IP and any Vnets you may have. (the irony here will come when you attempt to see a…

    14. Ability to test CDN Rules within the portal

The provitioning of the CDN Rules take up to 10 min. It would be helpful to have the ability to test the match contidions and the action result within the portal bevore saving the rule. At the moment we are experiancing a frustrating trial and error experience.

    15. Freedom of Choices for TLS Protocol Version

Seems no options available to choose which protocol version of TLS to be used for Standard Microsoft tier.

Customers raised this as a risk as we cannot manage to disable TLS 1.0 for those endpoints under Azure CDN.

    17. There seems to be a issue when enabling compression when using Akamai

It seems when using Akamai as the CDN and compression is enabled, static content which isn't compressed (e.g. images) always returns a pragma: no-cache header.

Either this is a bug, or an undocumented 'feature' .

    18. Allow different CDN cache and client cache times for Azure CDN Standard

Currently the only option is to set the Max-Age header on the content which sets the TTL on the CDN endpoints AND on the clients.

If we use the Purge API to refresh the CDN content, the clients still have the cached version.

Akamai has a "downstream-ttl" attribute on the Edge-control header that allows for client expiration customization while letting the "max-age" header set the CDN expiration.

This way you can set the downstream-ttl to 0 (client always requests to CDN) while CDN can cache the original content until Purged.

Without this, the Purge command is not entirely useful.

I’ve updated the title to reflect this is a request for Azure CDN Standard as this is supported via the rules engine in Azure CDN Premium from Verizon. Suppport for this is targeted for availability later this year in CDN Standard from Akamai and Verizon.

    19. Add referrer information to the Microsoft CDN Http Raw Logs

I can see that with a standard Microsoft profile, you can enable http raw logs that can then be used to analyze usage patterns.

The referrer doesn’t seem to be part of raw log properties (URL of the web page or resource that links to our cdn content). It would be useful to add this information if present and possibly even whole raw request.

    20. Fallback to secondary region of RA-GRS storage endpoints

If CDN endpoint origin is RA-GRS storage account and application can tolerate eventual consistency of RA-GRS storage accounts it should be possible to enable automatic fallback to secondary endpoint in case of retryable error returned by origin.
