Support wildcard hosts in custom hostnames
Many of current SaaS applications enable customers to select it`s own subdomain in order do have a personalized url.
So let's say I own contoso.com and I let my customers select any subdomain (*.contoso.com) like:
That's cool with a couple customers but when you have a large system it's not doable setup one by one, even that you can automate that.
The ideal solution would be allowing custom hostname field to bind a wildcard domain, in this example *.contoso.com
There's a similar idea for Application Gateway that has been for a while (https://feedback.azure.com/forums/217313-networking/suggestions/19527121-application-gateway-support-wildcard-hosts-in-lis)
Similar products on AWS and CloudFlare already support this option.
Application Services already support binding wildcard domains also.
This is great news! The URL to the docs aren't quite active yet.. just want to make sure it wasn't a typo.

Is there any update on this? This product would be a knock out for SAAS solutions if the listeners supported wild card certificates. Would be looking to implement asap.
The lack of wildcard domains makes Front Door unsuitable for SaaS / multi-tenancy applications. We wanted to use Front Door to get around the 500 hostname limit on App Services, which is another unfortunate limitation that affects the scaling of our solution. We now need to look elsewhere for basic traffic management ... It seems like we will be looking outside of the services Azure provides.
This is the second most upvoted feature request, and we are not getting any guidance. Is Front Door getting real internal MS support or should we worry about it's future? Not asking for anything concrete, just some information on what the MS team thinks of this feature? (of course, some rough timing would be very helpful as well :-)
Any update / expected date for this feature?
This is possible in WAG by using a basic http listener, as those don't look for a specific host header when routing traffic.
Having this capability for front door is critical for many SaaS applications and ISVs.
Could really use an update or at least an expected quarter/year we can expect it?
Any update of the release date?
Wildcard domains is estimated in the next 3 months according to a recent Q&A I saw.
What's the dev time for a feature like this? I know it says "STarted", but does stuff like this have to release on some publish schedule or major version updates? Or can it be expected to just roll out with in a few weeks?

Just checking, I know it's not mentioned explicitly, but will this be available for use in Front Door once completed?

This is a must have for us.
This is essential. We'd really like to try this or Application Gateway to replace a lot of our infrastructure, but until wildcard hostnames are supported both solutions aren't usable.
