Allow changing Billing Model for ExpressRoute from Unlimited to Metered with no downtime
Currently you can change an ExpressRoute from Metered to Unlimited at any time without any disruption.
You should also have the ability to go from Unlimited to Metered at any time without any disruption.

Dear Product team, please consider this capability.
The current limitation clearly doesn't make Microsoft customers happy or productive.
I have successfully helped customers migrate to metered billing with very limited disruption, but still, it was frustrating for the customers that we could not just flip a switch.
There may be challenges that make this more complex to solve then everyone would expect, but then please share some details to help everyone be a bit more patient.

This definitely seems like a bit of a ruse to me. I recently created one to mess around with, and it the DEFAULT is "Unlimited". Wound up creating two of them and got charged $2800. WOW! I've just requested a refund. We'll see how that goes.

We need a solution to change it without rework or downtime, its not viable to delete entire expressroute and configure it again

ooh... Just found this tread... Seems like a indecent, almost fraudulent behaviour by Microsoft.
I inherited an Azure environment, and worked out we are only using $23 out of the $1,700 the unlimited plan is costing us each month.Since the Expressroute is in production and it's provided by the Telco CSP it seems like a huge and unnecessary risk to the business to decommission this... So we will likely continue to be conned by Microsoft. Very annoying.

We want to change our billing plan from unmetered to metered looks like the only way to do it is deleting the circuit and which will cause downtime. Hope, Microsoft can come up with seamless backend changes instead of deleting/recreating the circuit

Unless there is valid reason not to, I’d like to see the option to change the billing model from Unlimited to Metered with no downtime.
Please note that excuse such as “computer says no” without reasonable explanation wouldn’t be acceptable and it would rather be annoying. -

If you can make change to increase the service, it seems in reasonable that
that to go from Unlimited to Metered change the pricing plan from unlimited to metered by deleting the circuit under the unlimited pricing plan, and re-creating it under the metered pricing plan”.Ideally we would be able to do this without any disruption or outage but unacceptable that have to delete and create which involves working with our Telco provider
