Application Gateway WAF support gzipped content in the request body
Application Gateway WAF does not support gzipped content in the request body.
Thanks for reaching out, can you please share your use case scenario?
When will Application Gateway V1 WAF will support gzipped content in the request body? Do we have any roadmap?
Has this been enabled on v1 AGs? I's seeing
on websites that has Static and Dynamic compression disabled, this has just recently started
Any update on this?
I use an app behind the gateway where the use of gzip encoding will decrease network connectivity to the client by 6x
particularly useful for clients on poor connectivity!

Here is the azure support request with the answer from the microsoft technician. Our app sends data to the Azure server using gzip to limit internet usage but WAF does not recognize the "Content-Encoding: gzip" header and blocks all calls.
