How can we improve Azure Networking?

Create an ICMP protocol profile to select on NSGs so ping can be allowed through without having to select *.*

    What you can do to workaround this is:
    <normal rule 1>
    <normal rule 2>
    <deny all tcp >
    <deny all udp >
    <permit *>

    This leads to permitting all BUT TCP und UDP

    Azure needs this standard functionality! We were evaluating Azure to migrate various workloads from Amazon AWS, discovered that the ICMP security group settings are not available! These setting s were available and used with Amazon, we can’t migrate…

    This is stupid. The fact they dont allow this has forced me to revoke a $140K Enterprise License Agreement with them. Good Job Microsoft.

    This is really important - as Ping is often used as "Troubleshooting Tool" and also for Monitoring Software. I can actually not understand, how you can not implement such a Rule!
