Azure Loadbalancer / Application Gateway : Provide basic status indication for nodes
Troubleshooting a loadbalancer in azure is a pain in the ***. A basic necesity is being able to see if a given node is regarded as up/down by the load balancer. The same applies to an application gateway too...
This is available for both AppGw and Standard Load Balancer. Please open a product specific UV item if you feel there is something missing that we need to add rather than this catchall item. I’m returning your votes with this closure.
Totally agree with this. Just evaluating the Azure WAF and seems obvious choice for WAF against App Services, but getting the dreaded 502 when I have done everything correctly, having followed the Channel 9 demo and other literature. Should be facilities in the portal to verify the connections, as it all seemed fine when I setup my AG and WAF,
It would be really helpful if better verification and diagnostic facilities were available in the Azure Portal please. For now I am scratching my head on the 502. 3rd party WAFs seems much easier to setup.
I may have missed something, but I do not think so.

The documentation provided indicates this feature feature is currently available.
Or just simpler ways to troubleshoot
This is just too painful and the diagnostics are non-existent 502 and that's it, no why!
i Agree, i am still finding a way to solve it. May be i wiil shift back to another solution
On Application Gateway, backend health is available. Refer to documentation at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/application-gateway/application-gateway-diagnostics.
