    1. Express Route permissions are not configure properly from MS side

This is a permission issue. when a service principal is giving read access on express route circuit, it's able to list all route for private connection using CLI and Powershell commands along with the ability to see it directly from the azure portal. However, it's not able to list the route using Rest calls. This issue basically means that permissions across express route are not configured properly. We need a work around it.

    2. Oracle

Trying to configure fastconnect-expressroute for Oracle OCI, which is supposedly supported, but not finding the values for PeeringLocation and ServiceProviderName. Would you please update the lists? Anyone?

      Thank you and regards

    3. Increase ExpressRoute Gateway related 200 routes BGP limitation

Currently there is a limitation which cause service disruption if the number of propagated routes by a single ER gateway reach 200 (the connection will be shutoff). This limit is too low. The routes are related to the vnets peered to the "hub" vnet which has the ER gw and its per address space and not per peered vnet.

    4. Manual injecting routes to the Expressroute

I hope there would be a manual way to inject route on the Expressroute going to onprem.

We hit a limitation where we cannot route the subnet our remote VNET in South Africa because its using its own Gateway subnet to our Singapore on prem that has expressroute. Routing is not very flexible with this

This would have complimented the UDR function in Azure

    5. Support QoS on Express Route

We have two units both consume IaaS, we would like to enforce 50mbps Max bandwidth consumption for business unit1 and 500mbps for unit 2.
      Without creating additional VRF.

    6. Direct BGP connectivity from MSEE to HUB CSRs are from VPN gateway to HUB CSRs

Hub CSRs router connectivity at Expressroute or VPN gateway usefull for primary connection failover and ECMP BGP. Both type useable in VPN gateway will be usefull for Dynamic Routing..

    7. ExpressRoute routing tables should return standardized data

When querying the route tables on a Private Peer (via Portal, Powershell or Azure CLI) the routes returned can vary depending on location - presumably because there are different platforms providing these tables:

e.g. for a default route advertised from on-premises to the MSEE:

      EASTUS2 returns 0.0.0.0
      CENTRALUS returns 0.0.0.0/0/

The different formats make automating route discovery/confirmation a pain - the API should normalize this data so the tables are consistent regardless of the underlying platform's own formatting nuances.

    8. ExpressRoute subnet overlapping error message

I was adding multiple vnets to an express route to our local office network.
When creating a virtual network it auto creates a fixed gateway subnet of 10.1.0.0/24, and when you connect multiple of these to an express route using a virtual network gateway AND a 'connection' the fact that another virtual network gateway was overlapping is quite hidden.

Currently when creating a connection with a vnet that overlaps an already connected one, it fails with this error message:
ErrorMessage: An internal error has occurred. , DEBUG Message: Unable to connect Virtual network vn-sea-btg-prod-myfloor-arm to circuit. One or more existing…

    9. Support macsec dot1q-in-clear on ExpressRoute Direct

If you can add support for macsec dot1q-in-clear on ExpressRoute Direct, it would be EXTREMELY beneficial.

The dot1q-in-clear option makes it possible to use MACSEC over MegaPort using tagged ports. It also makes it possible for MACSEC to transparently flow across Ethernet over MPLS, EPL, and other forms of metro ethernet.

Not supporting dot1q-in-clear drives up our costs and take away quite a bit of flexibility.

It would be even better if you could set up dot1q-in-clear support with connectivity providers.

MACSEC is important because we do not want to trust MegaPort, and MACSEC adds truly negligible latency whereas IPSEC…

    10. When is Express Route Global Reach going to be available for Brazil South?

We want to move away from traditional MPLS circuits and move our company to ExpressRoute Global Reach, but it's not available in Brazil South, when is it going to be available?

    12. Fix gaps in BGP and ARP availability metrics

There are gaps in the metrics on our 3 ExpressRoute circuits, across two different service providers, for both BGP and ARP availability. With these gaps, monitoring at a granular level is not an option as it incorrectly represents availability at absurd numbers like 63% over the last 4 hours. Upon opening a support ticket, Microsoft determined this was a known issue and there is no timeline for a fix. I was also not given a way to track the status of this issue and was directed here to post feedback which could then allow the development team to provide updates.…

    13. VPN Gateway forced-tunneling

      Hi team,
We can have Azure VNet to default to on-premise Internet. Why can't we have a possibility to use the reverse path: that is use Azure's Internet access for the on-premise network in case the ISP goes down? This is a win-win situation for Microsoft charging for outbound traffic and for customer having redundant path to the Internet using private ExpressRoute.

      Thanks

    14. Microsoft Public routes via Private peering

For customers who can't/won't configure Microsoft peering due to technical or administrative limitations, I think on-prem access to Public resources over Private peering would be useful. Here's how I imagine it looking:

      On-prem client -> customer edge -> msee -> ExR GW -> Customer NVA/Azure FW -> Microsoft network

      Workflow to enable:
      1. Choose an existing Virtual Network connection to modify - VNET would need to contain an NVA or Azure Firewall.
      2. Attach a route filter to this connection.
      3. Specify a next hop IP, either the NVA/LB IP or the Azure firewall IP.
      4. NAT/firewall rules are configured…

    15. ExpressRoute Global Reach Bandwidth

I have some questions about Global Reach throughput which are not clear in the documentation.

      1. In a full mesh of four ER Global Reach circuits, will a lower speed circuit effect the speed of traffic between two high speed circuits?

      2. It stated in the documentation that traffic can burst to twice the ER circuit speed - is this bursting supported between ER Global Reach circuits?

      3. Is active-active load balancing of traffic supported across Global Reach?

    17. ExpressRoute: support Active/Standby traffic control in MS peering without global ASN

In Microsoft Peering, azure expressroute currently allows customers to use AS-PATH prepend to control traffic.
However, it works only customer uses global ASN. For customer who doesn't own global ASN, please consider the following options

      1. allow to use private ASN for AS-PATH prepend

      2. take customer's MED attribute to control traffic

    18. Show Drops in Express Route Connection and VNET Gateway

We had a big outage earlier in the year due to a Gateway going bad in a VNET. We also are frequently asked if there is a “Network” issue where only one VNET has an issue. Many of these issues seems to be with performance issues rather than a total loss of connections. We need a way to track drops in a VNET.

Can Microsoft add “DropsInPerSecond/DropOutPerSecond” to the ExpressRoute Connection graph or the Gateway? This would help us determine if the issue is a Network issue or just and application issue.

      Thanks

    19. Express router gateway troubleshooting and monitoring: Virtual network gateway performance parameters

It would be very helpful to be able to have the virtual network gateway's perfomance`s data from the Azure portal, as now, you cannot get data such as connections/seconds or packets/seconds, these are parameters that you need to know in order to choose the appropriate Gateway's sku and also data needed to determine possible network performance problems.
