    1. VPN Gateway forced-tunneling

      Hi team,
We can have Azure VNet to default to on-premise Internet. Why can't we have a possibility to use the reverse path: that is use Azure's Internet access for the on-premise network in case the ISP goes down? This is a win-win situation for Microsoft charging for outbound traffic and for customer having redundant path to the Internet using private ExpressRoute.

      Thanks

    2. Express router gateway troubleshooting and monitoring: Virtual network gateway performance parameters

It would be very helpful to be able to have the virtual network gateway's perfomance`s data from the Azure portal, as now, you cannot get data such as connections/seconds or packets/seconds, these are parameters that you need to know in order to choose the appropriate Gateway's sku and also data needed to determine possible network performance problems.

    3. ExpressRoute Global Reach Bandwidth

I have some questions about Global Reach throughput which are not clear in the documentation.

      1. In a full mesh of four ER Global Reach circuits, will a lower speed circuit effect the speed of traffic between two high speed circuits?

      2. It stated in the documentation that traffic can burst to twice the ER circuit speed - is this bursting supported between ER Global Reach circuits?

      3. Is active-active load balancing of traffic supported across Global Reach?

    4. Show Drops in Express Route Connection and VNET Gateway

We had a big outage earlier in the year due to a Gateway going bad in a VNET. We also are frequently asked if there is a “Network” issue where only one VNET has an issue. Many of these issues seems to be with performance issues rather than a total loss of connections. We need a way to track drops in a VNET.

Can Microsoft add “DropsInPerSecond/DropOutPerSecond” to the ExpressRoute Connection graph or the Gateway? This would help us determine if the issue is a Network issue or just and application issue.

      Thanks

    5. BGP Filters on Private Peering

Can we expand BGP filtering into Private peering? That will enable us filtering unnecessary traffic and also filter incoming onPrem networks into Azure VNET. Furthermore , that will provide summarisation of on Prem routes into VNETs thus less UDRs if you wanted to route all traffic via NVA

    6. Allow account credential validation for Storage Account over Express Route

In our environment, we have an Express Route which is configured for both Microsoft Peering and Private Peering. We have a virtual estate consisting of a number of VNETS containing replica networks, primarily used for testing, attached to the Azure Storage area account.

We raised a call with MS that has resulted in this thread. To call the Storage Area account it appears that we must:

      a) Authenticate our user account over the internet

then b) gain access to our storage account and

      c) only then can we upload data over the express route into our storage area.

      We would…

    7. express route delegated authorization - billing should be also delegated

      ER delegated authorisation to share circuits across multiple subscriptions; but the data utilisation is billed to the central owning subscription;

allow the ability for a consuming subscription to recieve its own billing for its consumed bandwidth of the circuit.

    8. Get-AzureRmExpressRouteCircuitRouteTable command does not show an advertised route for Microsoft Peering

Get-AzureRmExpressRouteCircuitRouteTable command does not show an advertised route for Microsoft Peering.

We can see the address prefix for Private Peering and Public Peering.

I also could not see on "Get route table" in peering detail on Azure Portal.

    9. Express route costing in Azure calculator

In azure calculator , when we have to size for my express route , we have to consider 3 pricing factors

      1. Express Route Circuit Cost

      2. VPN Gateway - ER Gateway

      3. Service provider cost

      I would need clarity on below;

      1. If i select data plan as metered, we can mention how much of data we need consider as Outbound transfer

      2. When we go VPN gateway ---> In that we will select Express Route Gateway, again it is asking us to provide Inter VNET transfer charges.

Ideally it shouldn't be asking....as we already considering in Express Route cost. So please clarify the…

    10. IPFIX/NetFlow export for traffic visibility

Give ability for Express Route traffic to be visualized by a IPFIX/Netflow tool. i.e. Solarwinds NetFlow, LiveAction LiveNX etc.

    12. Metric filter by VNet Gateway peering name

Add metric to monitor the throughput to individual VNet Gateway peering connections to be able to add a notification when a certain percentage of bandwidth is consumed.

    13. Dynamic Upgrade Problems - NNI at Capacity

We've run into a recent problem where we couldn't dynamically upgrade (from 100Mb to 500Mb) an Expressroute circuit quickly when needed. We were told the MS NNI to our carrier (Verizon) was at capacity. The only option was to re-create the Expressroute circuit and then re-provision the Verizon SCI side of the link (took about 2 weeks). I would like to see Microsoft working with the carriers on a method of dynamically moving connections to different NNI's with capacity if needed. Maybe there is a grooming operation that runs between MS & the carriers that dynamically moves these links to…

    15. Allow Point2Site service on Express Route VNG

All Point-2-Site connection on a express route VNG. Currently this is not possible and you end up having to run two VNG's to have a express route, plus host a Point to Site VPN service.

    16. administrative distance routing

It would be nice if you could set the Administrative Distance for a route the way you can on a physical router. Azure trusts user defined routes, then BGP, then system routes. I would like to trust the BGP route first, and if the BGP is down then use the user defined route.

    17. Add location Specific BGP community for O365 routes

O365 subnets over microsoft peering has the application specific community, but it is difficult to understand which location the subnet belongs to, so please add the location BGP community also with the Application BGP community

    18. Allow changing Billing Model for ExpressRoute from Unlimited to Metered with no downtime

Currently you can change an ExpressRoute from Metered to Unlimited at any time without any disruption.

You should also have the ability to go from Unlimited to Metered at any time without any disruption.

    19. Please make dev.azure.com (IP I see is 13.107.6.183) to be accessible via Microsoft peering over an ExpressRoute connection.

Would help make the case to move away from TFS if the path to get to the website is via a low latency, more predictable network path away from the (sometimes variable) internet connection many organisations have.

    20. Traffic analysis on ExpressRoute connections on top dataflows

If there are many VNET's connected to the ExpressRoute, traffic of one VNET can impact other VNET's traffic. We need a way to see which srcip and dstip traffic is responsible for filling up the ExpressRoute. Current NSG flow data does not include amount of data between endpoints, thus we need another way of analysing top consumers of the ExpressRoute.
