    1. Azure DNS should support some of the less-common record types

Azure DNS supports the most common DNS record types. However, I'd like to use other ones, like OPENPGPKEY, HIP, RP, SSHFP, URI, and (once DNSSEC support is added) TLSA. Adding those records would be fairly simple and require little change to your backend.

Right now, I need to start up and Azure VM, install Linux, then set up BIND. I'd much prefer to leverage Azure DNS for my DNS needs.

    2. Audit logs for DNS record changes

Multiple people have access to our DNS zones. We would like to know who changed what.

    3. Zone transfer of zones hosted on Azure Private DNS

Need to extract the DNS zone hosted in Azure Private DNS via zone transfer to be able to ***** it to DNS server on premise.
Today that functionality exists on a the public Azure DNS but not when using it as a Private DNS within a VNET.

Large companies have large internal DNS implementations and without this function it really limits our possibility to use Azure DNS and to incorporate it into the existing internal DNS design.

    4. Add App Service Virtual IP (VIP) as Traffic Manager endpoints

When using the Alias Record Set of Azure DNS, it becomes an error if it is a domain name.

App Service has a VIP, I would like an option to add IP instead of domain name.

    5. Support DNS query policies

Add support for enabling, configuring, and using DNS query resolution and query recursion policies including for private zones

    6. Export Azure DNS Zones to the format of BIND

      Hey
We wanna backup all our current azure DNS Zones. But currently only Azure Standard format is supported. that means there no solution to allow us to backup these zones/record in to the format of BIND. As Azure support import zones by the format of BING, but not export. this is quite incovenient for our such large amouns of DNS zones. plz review this proposal.

    7. Add Redis as Traffic Manager Service Type

Currently the Traffic Manager only supports Service Types of Cloud App and Web App. Would be nice to add other services too such as Redis. The outage in West Europe this week highlighted a number of Azure services that currently cannot be Geo-Redundant

    8. Support SSHFP records in Azure DNS zones

Since Windows now supports OpenSSH natively, as well as Linux and other clients/servers on the same network, supporting this standard for server authentication seems like an obvious win.

    9. Allow Traffic Manager to have HTTPS passthrough capability

Currently when creating a new Traffic Manager profile, there is no option to have an HTTPS domain created for TM itself. As a result, if traffic is expected to be encrypted from entry (say Azure DNS) to routing (Azure Traffic Manager) all the way to the endpoint application (Azure AKS for instance based on Geographical region) then Traffic Manager should allow for this scenario.

Adding additional layers in-between the transport design can slow down execution times and transfer times, which may go over SLA agreements with customers. We would like to see Traffic Manager capable of HTTPS passthrough in order…

    11. Traffic Manager Probe Success and Failure Logs

Currently in the metrics for Traffic Manager, you cannot see a history of when probes passed or failed. You can only see an average of the probes over a period of time.

Seeing the logs of when probes succeeded and failed for each endpoint could be helpful for troubleshooting. Particularly when you think a failover should have occurred, but it did not.

    12. Tags for DNS Record - with space in Tagname

Public DNS Records currently don't allow Tagnames containing space character - we checkt this in support case 119072222001569. As far as we know all other Provider do support this. Please add this to DNS Record as well so that we have the same Tagging cababilities with all Resource Providers.

    13. Allow creating multiple TXT records at the root of the domain

I have customers that have multiple TXT records at the root of their domain with their current DNS provider. This is not possible in Azure. Hence we cannot move their DNS to Azure. Please make this possible.

    14. Improve Interface / Search for Azure DNS

Please fix azure DNS interface so that search works without having to click "load more" times until you reach the page with the record on it. We have thousands of records and we cant easily find the ones we need to adjust. This is a major issue for our networking team.

    15. nsupdate

We need a painless way to update linux systems with the dynamic internal and external IPs of systems. We'd like to use the Azure DNS service. The painless Linux way is using nsupdate.

Please support allowing us to update entries within our DNS managed domain.

For security either allow us to upload a public key for use with nuspdate, or generate a key pair and let us download the privay=te key.

      Thank you for the feedback.
For internal networks, the Azure-provided DNS service already supports dynamic DNS update. However, this service does not enable you to specify your own DNS zone (that’s something we’re already tracking).
For the external networks, Azure DNS today only supports DNS updates via the Azure Resource Manager REST API (the Portal, PowerShell and CLI experiences sit on top of this API). We will consider whether dynamic DNS should also be supported, based on customer demand.

    16. Traffic manager https

Why dont subdomains of trafficmanager.net automatically support https? Similar to azurewebsites.net.

    17. DNS and DHCP server without the dependency of on premises server and router

Cloud technology has great competition. In future, the leader of cloud technology will have one edge against their competitors which will be providing DHCP/DNS Server on the cloud without an on-premises server and all workstations can log in from anywhere and WDS will be more easy for IT support team in an organization.

    18. Azure DNS Logs

Need to access DNS Request Logs on "Azure DNS" service. Actually, we can't search on any logs if we get a DDOS attack on our zone. So, we can receive a big invoice because of huge query number without to know who is requesting our DNS zone.

    19. Traffic Manager should default to port 443 for HTTPS

First time configuring Traffic Manager and I pointed it at https but forgot to change the port, took a support call to resolve.

Suggest that the default port be changed to 443 if you toggle to https, or at least warn that you are on a non-default https port

    20. Same name servers pool for all DNS public Zones per subscription

We would like to migrate from other DNS provider to Azure DNS. There will be almost 600 zones. It its absolutely unmanageable to take Azure DNS name servers zone by zone and update each domain register. Please, considerate the possibility to have the same name servers pool for all zones for the same subscription or even better, give the possibility to stablish different name server pools and assign to zones.
      Thanks in advanced.
