  1. Add metadata support to storage queue messages

Please add the capability to add custom metadata to storage queue messages so that we can more easily implement additional communication features on top of them (correlation, header based routing, ...)

  2. AzCopy should support filtering of table entities

Just like a Pattern parameter for copying blobs, there should be a similar parameter for copying table entities.

It should be possible to filter both on partition and and row keys.

I personally find it quite seldom that I need to copy entire table.

  3. Add ARM as trusted Service in Storage Account Firewall.

Please add "Azure Resource Manager(ARM) template deployment service" as Trusted Service in Storage Account Firewall services. Right now when we add IP restrictions and "Allow trusted Microsoft services", the ARM Template deployment fails when it attempts to get the keys for the storage account, because ARM is not added as Trusted Service in Storage Account Firewall.

  4. Add support for gzip and/or deflate on Table Storage

I noticed that the Storage team has gone to great lengths to reduce bandwidth usage by switching to JSON. Take this to the next logical step and add support for the Accept-Encoding header in the client libraries and have the server return content gzipped or deflated. JSON compresses quite nicely, especially if the entities returned from a query are similar, which they nearly always will be if you're querying on PartitionKey and RowKey

  5. Allow CORS rules to be applied via ARM template

There is currently no support for CORS rules in Azure Resource Manager templates for storage accounts.

  6. virus checking/scanning mechanism for azure storage on file upload. Possibly optional for improved performance(bound to container).

It would be nice to have an integrated virus checking/scanning mechanism on Azure storage without having to rely on 3rd party software.

  9. Permanent deletion of soft-deleted blobs (GDPR)

We considered using the new Azure Blob Storage - Soft Delete feature - as a backup solution and safety precaution for accidental blob deletions caused by potential code bugs in our (multitenant) application.

We would like to set the retention as high as possible from a safety perspective, but need to set it as low as possible from a GDPR compliance perspective; since we need to remove all PII for resigning customers - this also include soft deleted blobs.

Since there seem to be no way to permanently delete soft deleted blobs (before they are automatically removed by the retention…

  10. Azcopy to allow deletion of file from source upon successful copy

After a successful file copy, i'd like the option to be able to remove the source file after a hash check has been performed.

My use case is from a Centos VM, copying to Azure blob storage. I want to archive the data off the VM to blob storage.

  11. Add the installation instructions for the Linux version of the Azure Storage Explorer

Add the installation instructions for the Linux version of the Azure Storage Explorer as there is no .deb file nor install.sh file. A .deb file would install straight away. If you provided an obvious file name like install.sh we might have half a chance. As usual you've ignored convention and expect people to mind read.

  12. Make AzureDevOps a "Trusted Microsoft Services" to the Azure Storage firewall

Add Azure Functions as a trusted Microsoft service in Azure Storage firewall settings. Will help improve security around for build artifacts targeted Azure storage.

  13. Make Blob access policies Azure Resource Manager managed

In order to apply Azure Policies the item you want to control has to be ARM managed. Apparently Blob Access Policies are not ARM managed (i.e. resource that can be managed by calling https://management.azure.com/[ResourceId]). Because of this the Azure Policies product group can't make a policy alias to audit/deny the use of public containers/blobs, see: https://github.com/Azure/azure-policy/issues/131.

This is a big issue because the use of anonymous access to storage containing enterprise data is a huge risk.

  14. Allow iSCSI LUNS or NAS Shares in Azure File Sync. (Please)

It would be great if we weren't limited to directly attached storage in AFS. Adding remotely mapped drives would be very useful. (I cant find any docs on iSCSI but the docs do say remote mapped shares are not allowed at present

  15. Appliance for Azure File Sync

I want to use Azure File Sync on easy/small server.
    no-RAID, less-storage, less-price, less-install, less ITpro,
and order at Online store, or order at PC shop,
and starting Azure Files within few minutes.

I hope a appliance for using Azure Files Storage with Azure File Sync.

  16. Manage SAS Token by Name and Include in Audit Logs

Give SAS tokens a name when generating then:
    - allow report/table of all generated token
    - allow revoke of exisiting token (or modification of access)
    - use the SAS token name in storage audit logs

At the moment, the storage access logs do not show any useful information about who has made access, and this is critical to a practical audit function.

Thank you for your feedback. Currently you can use a stored access policy to manage revocation of an existing token. You are also able to track requests made using an existing stored access policy in the storage account logs. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-dotnet-shared-access-signature-part-1#controlling-a-sas-with-a-stored-access-policy for more details. For any further questions, or to discuss your specific scenario, send us an email at azurestoragefeedback@microsoft.com.

  17. Provide "ForceSerializeAttribute" for TableEntity-derived properties and fields

In a sense, it would be the opposite of the existing "IgnorePropertyAttribute" by forcing the serialization of decorated fields and properties (even if it they are private)

  18. Enable Incremental Snapshots for Managed Disks

With Unmanaged disks, by accessing the PageBlob APIs, one can efficiently compute incremental changes between two snapshots. This is because these blobs support incremental snapshots. This helps a lot in custom DR scenarios. However, with Managed disks, you cannot do such incrementals because each snapshot is a full copy.

Are we planning to enable incremental snapshotting capability for Managed Disks?

  19. Customer Managed SSE Keys for Managed Disk

Please provide the capability of using Customer Managed Keys for Storage Service Encryption (SSE). This is required for customers who need the ability to manage keys but seek to leverage the scalability and manageability advantages of Managed Disk.

  20. Like (Contains) Operator for Azure Table

It would be very useful to use like (Contains) operator to query for rowkeys or partitionkeys, if it's not possible for partitionkeys then it could just be for rowkeys.
