  1. A sync tool for file storage would be incredible!

A Synchronization tool / app with basic features of 1 way / 2 way / mirror, from desk to cloud would be incredible. Whether it was incorporated to the existing Storage Explorer or a separate standalone is totally up to you. I've only found one premade solution and am having major difficulty getting it to work ,,,

  2. Paging issue in Azure table Storage 4.0

While using the Azure Table Storage 4.0, i discovered an issue with the paging functionality.
If fire a query which returns more than 30 records, I have to move to the next page to view the excess records.
Suppose i was on Page 2 and now i fire a query which returns less than 30 values.
In this case, I am unable to see any records because the page isn't reset and it still shows me page 2 which has no records.
I hope you will look into this issue and fix it in the future release.

  3. CIPSEA Compliance

A few US Federal Government agencies require Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act of 2002 compliance (CIPSEA). Does Azure host CIPSEA data?

  4. Azure Data Box Gateway does not support propagation of deletions to the cloud

Azure Data Box Gateway does not currently support the propagation of deletions to the Cloud. Propagation of deletion from the cloud is a useful feature.

  5. Preallocate table sizes

In our load we typically create a new table and then fill it with ~100M entries quickly. After that we create some entries, change some, delete some, but the size is growing more slowly.

The problem is that when we load the ~100M first elements from 0 elements, Azure storage becomes really slow. Very high response times. We think this is because it has to allocate lots of space and because it has to rebalance data between buckets many times in the start. After initial warmup, we can run much higher load against it then in the start.

  7. Blob static web rollback/deploy/update issues

Rollback: Blob snapshot function is per file and not per container, it is difficult to rollback the website.

Deploy: Adding a slot option for static web would be useful for deployment with 0 downtime.

Update: Blob update is text level or file level but not container level, so the easiest way is to delete and reupload them. If the files have snapshot, it cannot be deleted.

  8. Azure blob storage - cannot create folders from container page

There is no option to create folders from container page for blob storage. Users must use the Storage Explorer to create the folder. Add the option to create the folder from container page.

  9. View Cosmos DB Cassandra API documents

Unable to view Cosmos DB Cassandra API documents in Storage Explorer. It would be nice to have this feature to view the documents in Storage Explorer.

  10. Varying latencies for blob storage reads on stress runs

Latency and throttling errors on storage reads for small (1MB) and large (10 MB) requests are being encountered without any other visible change to the requests, app service CPI or memory. It is possibly linked to trying to access 64KB blocks at a time, as the blocks are read/decompressed/decrypted in 512KB blocks.

  12. Please improve the GetPageRanges API.

We have seen the lots of issues with this API. This API fails for a chunk size of 64 MB (when the Azure doc mentions that it would work for 130 MB for sure). The worst thing is it takes 10 mins to fail the API even though the timeout is 90 seconds (as per the azure docs). Needs serious improvements. We use this API to do the cross region replication and restore operations from cross region replicated snapshot.
The similar API by AWS does lot more things smartly.

  13. Blobfuse creates 0-byte stubs with same name that could cause errors when read by other applications

Blobfuse creates 0-byte files (stubs) with same name as blob when a blob is in a hierarchy. This breaks some applications that expect a normal filesystem structure and do not expect an empty file and a folder with the same name in the same place. Blobfuse should create a stub with different name so other applications won't break when they try to read the files.

  16. Github commit trigger, automaticaly deploy to static website hosting(Azure Storage)

I need the function that static contents is automaticaly deploied to static website hosting in Azure blob storage when github repository is committed. Like a azure web app deploy center.

  17. Lifecycle management should have a warning message on Azure portal if applying to all blobs in all containers

When creating a lifecycle management rule on Azure portal, if the rule has no filters configured, it means that all blobs in all containers within that storage account will be affected, it's not good the rule for moving blobs to Archive tier, it will make some apps crash. So, I think BLM should have a warning message on Azure portal if applying to all blobs in all containers.

  18. Include Logic Apps in the Trusted Microsoft Services for Storage Accounts

Include Logic Apps in the Trusted Microsoft Services for Storage Accounts when configuring diagnostic settings in the Logic App to "archive to a storage account". Security Center flags logic app for not having this configured but then after configuring the storage account is flagged for not restriction access, "Restrict access to storage accounts with firewall and virtual network configurations (Preview)". Since the logic app can not be assigned to a virtual network this cannot be resolved/secured properly without taking my environment in to an App Service Environment.

  19. Allow "Prefer: return-no-content" for upserts (i.e. InsertOrMerge/InsertOrReplace)

As per subject, allow to ignore echo on upsert operations too. There are cases where echo is not important when performing the upsert operation itself even if a row has been modified/replaced (ex: the table row will be read back later by another component).

  20. CloudStorageAccount.Parse(): Support SafeString

CloudStorageAccount.Parse(): Today takes string as parameter, as it contains username/password, I think it would be better if it took a SafeString.
