  2. Azure Storage explorer should have an option in the UI to cascade security settings to child files for Azure Data Lake storage. (gen 2)

We can use the CLI to achieve this, but it would be useful from an admin perspective to be able to do it via a UI

  3. Storage Explorer hangs when calculating Directory Statistics on deep folder trees

When invoking Directory Statistics on deep folder trees - Storage Explorer hangs and has to be killed from process list. The attachment shows the problem.

  5. Move Files from Azure Blob Storage to Azure VM using Drag and Drop

I have some non-tech savvy clients that want to use Azure VMs. Microsoft procedures to Create and Provision Azure VMs is way too difficult. I should be able to Move Files from Azure Blob Storage to Azure VM using Drag and Drop so that I can move several files that I need to provision the VM.

  6. You Urgently Need To Heavily Improve Accessibility for 10,000's of Blobs!

Did I really just download and install a tool that's just a web wrapper and offers no extra functionality over the like-named function in Azure portal?! This s*cks!
I'm afraid of clicking 'Load More' more than 100 times for seeing all blobs of my storage account! Why there's no 'load all', 'jump to the end', or 'disable pagination'? Where are the sensible filters apart from name (e.g. date)?!

  8. Add a Sync feature to Storage Explorer

Please add a "sync" feature to Storage Explorer so I can quickly update files in blob storage when I've made updates to a copy of those files on my local filesystem.

3rd party solution CloudBerry Explorer has this feature.

  9. Please fix standalone Azure Storage Explorer to not change DateTime fields

I'm using the standalone Azure Storage Explorer with a Table Storage database and when I double-click a row to see the fields and then click Update, Azure Storage Explorer changes the DateTime fields even though I didn't make any changes. It's adding 6 hours each time.

It's easy to reproduce: open a table with a DateTime field, double-click a row, don't change anything - just click Update. Then open the same row and you'll see the time has changed. Click update again. Open the row again - the time changed again (adding 6 hours each time)!

    While searching for help…

  10. Clone option for Table rows

Sometimes we need to enter a lot of Table records with mostly similar values. It would be handy if there was a Clone option. This would be largely the same as the Add function except that the form would be pre-filled with the values of the row highlighted when the button was pressed. PartitionKey and RowKey would be editable.

  13. Azure Storage Explorer 0.9.6 does not work with new role Cosmos DB Account Reader Role

Azure Storage Explorer 0.9.6 does not appear to work with new role "Cosmos DB Account Reader Role". If we add the "Contributor" role for a user, the user is able to access.. however, from what I understand, this new role is replacing the more generic "Reader" role. This works inside the Azure Portal.. but not in Azure Storage Explorer. Please advise.

Using Chrome it is not possible to paste some value into the Search field of the Storage Explorer in the Portal. This is possible in firefox.

  15. Notifications of breaking changes

I've been using the azure storage import for the Python SDK for months. Today is failed with a message --cannot import name 'cloudstorageaccount'.
A pip install azure-storage --upgrade fixed the issue, but how do I know in advance that breaking changes are eminent.

  16. Unable to sign in: unable to verify the first certificate

Unable to authenticate to storage because of TLS server certificate validation. We use a transparent proxy that MITM outbound connections by presenting a certificate signed by our internal CA. We attempted to import that CA into Storage Explorer using the certifcate import function in the Edit menu but the client still rejects the certificate.

  18. Unable to view documents in CosmosDB in Storage Expolorer 1.6.0

After upgrading Storage Explorer 1.5.0 to 1.6.0 I am unable to view any documents in CosmosDB instances hosted on Azure.

When clicking on a Documents node in the left-hand pane a new tab is opened but remains blank (even without the buttons)

Showing documents from local emulator works fine.

The same applies to Query Tab.

  19. Cannot download macOS Azure Storage Explorer from web site

On the web site at https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/features/storage-explorer/, if you select macOS and click the "download" button, the windows (.exe) version is downloaded instead of the macOS version.

  20. Right click options on blob are cut off the screen

If my list of blobs is too long or my browser is too short, then the right-click options expand downward and the lowest options are cut off the screen
