  1. Azure Storage Explorer

Azure Storage Explorer should have, a “Load More” or, a “Load All” button, which should be accompanied by a warning.
If ASE has cached only a certain number of entries and you try to order that cache (whether by Last Modified Date or any other attribute), you should get a warning if the cache size is smaller than the container size, and perhaps the option of loading the entire container. That way, it doesn’t just give a misleading listing that is incorrect for subtle reasons.

  2. Distribute AzCopy and Azure Storage Explorer via the Microsoft Store

Simple tools like Azure Storage Explorer and AzCopy are great candidates for inclusion in the Microsoft store. For cross-platform compatibility, it makes sense not to port to UWP and to continue distributing MSIs, but for those of us with Windows 10, it makes the installation process very simple. Also, Azure Storage Explorer always seems to want to update. With the Microsoft Store, updates happen transparently and quickly.

  3. Add a Chocolatey package for Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer

Chocolatey makes it easy to install and upgrade programs. This should be easy to create with each deployment

  5. Storage Explorer log file : to help resolve network proxy issues ?

On a specific client network, Storage Explorer is unable to connect to Azure services.
"Unable to establish connection using current proxy settings. Please verify current settings by accessing the proxy dialog in the toolbar."
Is there a log file with a more detailed error description ?
    - what is the service being contacted (url) ?
    - what is the exact error ?
I have tested the proxy with IE and Chrome browser, and it works fine as long as you accept the client internal Certificate Autority (the proxy is inspecting the content of TLS trafic and replace server certificate by…

  6. RBAC for Storage Explorer in portal

Today Azure Storage Explorer in Azure Portal uses SAS authentication. When a user opens Storage Explorer in portal, it sends a listkey API call to retrieve the storage keys.

This will be an explorer problem if some one uses RBAC to limit the access to storage keys. If some one need to access the storage explorer, it will read the access keys even with the read only access.
However, I don't know there is any other way to access the storage without access key(AAD may be).

I know currently, the Azure Storage Explorer in portal does not support RBAC (like…

  8. Add support for azurite as local storage emulator to storage explorer tool

On linux the only option to emulate azure storage is the open source project azurite. Unfortunately this is not supported as local emulator for azure storage explorer. This way it is nearly impossible to develop and test storage locally. Please add support for azurite in storage explorer tool on linux.

  9. Improve file search functionality in Active blobs

Improve search functionality in Active blobs. I would like to be able to search files where it does not rely on case-sensitive and allows me to search by extension. (.png, .jpg, etc.) Currently, if I was to type ".png" in the search bar, it will return nothing.

  10. Azure Storage Explorer should be either customizable or open-source (again)

To build hybrid apps, many 3rd party applications need extensive parts of the storage explorer. Thus, it was great to have it open source (deco), but now the closed source version does not apparently permit extensive UI-configuration (branding, visibility of parts etc.) to enable reasonable 3rd party use.

  11. Storage Explorer vs. MAX_path issue (260 character) when double clicking files

Azure Storage Explorer creates two weird GUID folders within each other under temp before downloading the file including the folder structure containing the file.

This appears to be an issue often for users. Why have to folders with long GUIDs that only leave limited space for the folder structure and filename?

Users double click files in Azure Storage Explorer and expect the files to open in either Adobe Acrobat or Word, but nothing happens as the path exceed the allows 260 chars within Windows

  13. Azure Storage Explorer - View Blobs by Date

I use an old tool called Azure Storage Explorer 6 and it displayed all the blobs within a container without any subfolders by date. I use the logging available in an Azure web app to log to blob storage and this creates all sorts of subfolders so it is difficult to find the logs.

Can this functionality be built into the Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer?

  15. Storage Explorer v0.8.12 breaks if HOMEDRIVE offline

V0.8.12 update has broken Storage Explorer for me with an "Unknown Error" when starting. As the error refers to "P:/" I suspect it is something to do with the HOMEDRIVE environment variable that points to that drive. This is a network drive enforced upon my by group policy but which I never use. As I am currently engaged in trial Azure development I generally have to work offline from the corporate network due to proxy server and firewall restrictions we are not yet ready to lift.

I am working with our internal support to try and get GP exceptions but…

  16. Option to customize number of file views per pagination.

Can we have a setting option that allows the user to set how many files they would like to view per pagination? Currently, it is defaulted at showing 1 to 100. I would like to be able to change 100 to 1000 if I wanted to.

  17. I would like to feedback Microsoft to add new feature on ADLS Gen2 to allow to add Group using Group name.

I would like to feedback Microsoft to add new feature on ADLS Gen2 to allow to add Group using Group name. Because now we can use only object id which it is difficult to maintain. It is very good if we can both object id and group name.

  18. Proper error handlong on download in storage explorer

Right now I get "Failed to Download 'xxxx'".

    1) Provide information on WHY it failed so I might be able to do something about it.
    2) Allow me to easily retry - preferably by selecting one/all-some failed downloads in a download group.

  19. Improve Search Performance for exact matches

We are currently using Azure Media Services which creates a new blob container for each asset. We currently have 40,000 distinct assets. When attempting to search from the blob container level using the exact container id it can take 10+ minutes. This seams to be searching for content within the containers as well. In contrast if we search Azure Media Services Explorer by id it is instant. It would be good to be able to have more control over how it searches
