Support HTTP/2 and SPDY
With all the major browsers behind http/2 and deployed spdy/3 (chrome/ff/IE11) please implement this for Azure Storage
Thank you for your feedback. Providing this functionality is on our backlog but there is no ETA we can share at this time. We will provide updates when they become available. For any further questions, or to discuss your specific scenario, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Is there any update on this?
Today I saw a request to blob storage using HTTP2. It seems they are doing a trial.

Also would be good to have on Application Gateways too

App Service and CDN support it. No reason why Storage itself can't.

Since this idea was raised browser support for HTTP/2 has increased a lot. The current figures are above 80 % global coverage according to https://caniuse.com/#feat=http2. Even IE11 has partial support now!
Would be great if gzip support could be added as part of this update!

I agree! We are doing a lot of small request from a VM to a storage account and are running into a limit in setting up the connections (file size is not really a big impact). With HTTP/2 this should be a lot more performant.
