Audit logging on Azure Files
We would like to move our shared files to Azure Files but we can't as we are regulated to audit access to our files.
We need Azure files to have the same audit capabilities as Office 365.
being able to audit the shares for changes like delete and rename is a big thing for us.
definitely need the auditing for file delete, create, change and rename
Monitoring Azure Files:

The lack of auditing is a big problem. We need the same level of auditing for Azure Files as we have with on-premise File Servers.

BUSSINESS IS IMPACTING BECAUSE OF THE AUDIT FEATURE, STAKEHOLDERS WANTS TO ENABLE AUDIT SO THEY CAN WHO MADE CHANGES ON FOLDER AND FILE LEVEL, PRIORITIZE IT. LARGE AMOUNT OF DATA OWNERS WANT TO MOVE 10 TO 20 TB BUT NOW CHANGING THEIR MIND. PLEASE PROVIDE THIS. WE ARE MICROSOFT CSP.
I'm having a hard time believing this haven't been implemented!! How can we possibly move our fileshare in Azure Files without proper auditing?
We are in the process of migrating 3 our regions to Azure files in a single domain and cross forest. This will be highly beneficial and require from a compliance perspective, without this it will be a no go for the business to migrate.
Please implement this asap.
This would be a huge benefit to have for Azure File Shares.

Azure Kubernetes only supports files or disk for persistent volumes, so without audit support there is no way to easily integrate Aks with other Azure infrastructure and meet regulatory compliance.

Auditing functionality is a must for some industries!
Yeah... why wouldn't the idea of logging user access to the file share be thought of?
File Shares are important too!
Please come up with a log for this.

I'm surprised it hasn't been implemented yet. Seems like a very important feature compliance-wise to see who modified/deleted the file.

It is necessary to be able to have records of the users who make modifications to the files (granularly). In the same way as file server auditing in a local environment
We also need this functionality. We would like to move our files storage off of Sharepoint, but we need to be the same audit capabilities as O365.
