SFTP (and FTPS) protocol support for Azure storage
Exposing the SFTP protocol for Azure Files or Azure Blob storage would facilitate a bunch of scenarios where today 2 VMs (with all the management overhead that implies) are required.
Thank you for the strong feedback on this request. We are working on this and will share our plans for this offering soon. Thank you for your patience!

Very surprised this is not considered important considering the huge number of simple devices such as trail camera traps, etc, that can only use FTP to send images. Very few people can afford to keep a VM with FTP Server setup on it running 24/7 just for photos or video that may come irregularly.
Please provide an implementation timeline for this feature, it’s been several months since the latest update

Please provide a timeline on the release feature

Can you provide more details about the timeline and development plan please.
We need to decide on whether to invest in a separate solution or wait for this to be released.
Any update on timelines? Features?
We will appreciate any information

Having FTP, sFTP and SCP as built-in features of Azure Files would be a tremendous benefit.
Please share the timeline, we need this.
FTP and SFTP support in Azure Storage Explorer should be included
Thanks we really need this

Just to say that I'm one more person that was searching for SFTP functionality inside Azure File Storage and just found that such basic functionality doesn't exist... Please add this to your portfolio.
Just want to add use case. Currently we have hundreds of clients who need to transfer files to/from system. Based on current policy and compliance one of the common way for clients to transfer files would be sftp/ftps , we have a few scenarios that currently being used, but two most common :
1. ftps - username and password
2. sftp - key exchange, individual key pair per client
as of now, this is one of the key component that preventing us to fully move our prod load to azure
We have a firm requirement to have SFTP or FTPS to interface to/from other's systems. This should be a PaaS service so we don't have to manage instances as we don't have resources to do that. Your competitors offer this service.

After almost 3 years after launching this idea, it would be nice to see even the slighest interest in it from Microsoft...
its a urgent feature
A must have.
i want to upload my Security camera footage (10 seconds video after alarm) straight to azure. Mist security cams only support FTP/SFTP. I do not want to deploy a server for this.

We offer a fully managed SFTP, FTP, FTPS and SCP solution directly to your Azure blob/files storage.
We also provide a downloadable Windows or Linux Self-hosted instance that does the same and can run in HA mode.

This would be a huge feature add! There are so many systems that rely on SFTP to send data files from one organization to another. This is just been a missing feature that Azure Storage should have added along time ago!
