Virus scanning for Blob Storage
Need the ability for real-time virus scanning on blobs.
Thank you for your feedback. This functionality is offered by security partners. Symantec has released the support on Azure Blob Storage. Please refer to the partner website for detailed information.

Are there any updates on this? Do we now have a Microsoft solution for malware protection?

Symantec Corporation released Symantec™ Cloud Workload Protection for Storage which helps protect Azure Blob Storage from malware including viruses, worms, trojan horses, ransomware, etc. This helps protect critical data assets that customers are hosting in Azure Blob Storage.
Symantec released anti-malware protection for Azure Blob storage in Symantec Cloud Workload Protection (CWP) for Storage in May 2019. The key features and highlights include:
• One-click, easy deployment of CWP for Storage
• Instant and periodic checks with configurable near real-time scans and scheduled scans; Support for Azure auto-scaling to optimize cost and performance
• Centralized cloud console displaying unified dashboard and alerts to manage threats across multiple organizations
• Provides secured environment to scan data using Azure’s encrypted disk
• Ability to perform several operations through the Command Gateway
Symantec Cloud Workload Protection for Storage is available in Azure Marketplace now. You can start using it to help protect your data hosted in Azure Blob storage. See more information in Symantec CWP product site.

We are having this requirement as well for an application that we have developed. This would be a great product if Microsoft can either build a solution in Azure or team up with one of the big players such as McAfee (Skyhigh) or Symantec ( Cloud workload).
Look at http://www.attachmentscanner.com
I used them and it works pretty nicely. I looked at VirusTotal but the entry level price is a tad expensive. Both solutions worked really nicely.

It is a shame this has been denied. This feature would add further value. For many of my clients.
