  1. "Snapshot if exists" function

    At the present time, running the "Snapshot Blob" operation against a non-existent blob yields an error.

    It would be very useful to have a "Snapshot if exists" operation (or indeed an option on the present "Snapshot Blob"). So that if a blob does not exist, no error is generated.

  4. Storage Explorer v0.8.12 breaks if HOMEDRIVE offline

    V0.8.12 update has broken Storage Explorer for me with an "Unknown Error" when starting. As the error refers to "P:/" I suspect it is something to do with the HOMEDRIVE environment variable that points to that drive. This is a network drive enforced upon my by group policy but which I never use. As I am currently engaged in trial Azure development I generally have to work offline from the corporate network due to proxy server and firewall restrictions we are not yet ready to lift.

    I am working with our internal support to try and get GP exceptions but…

  5. CloudPageBlobs should have a CURRENT snapshot name that always points to the latest

    CloudPageBlobs should have a CURRENT snapshot that always directly follows the latest version of the blob it is refrencing. This would allow for many read-only mounts of the VHD with out having to manage the create/delete cycle of time stamped labels. Additionally this mount would reduce the unmount/remount cycle that moves around drive letters and can mess up previously opened files.

  6. move pageblobs already in the cloud to cool storage, you can't!

    I was on the phone today with Microsoft Azure. I have 12TB of data in pageblobs that I would like to move to azure cool storage for archiving. Well, the only way to do that is to download them to local HDD and then convert and upload to cool storage. You can not at this time transfer from your azure storage files "in the cloud" over to cool block blobs. Plus, another limitation is that block blobs have a size limit of 195GB due to its internal architecture. I have plenty of pageblobs over 1tb that I would like to…

  7. Table storage garbage collection

    Would be awesome to have the ability to set a data expiration/garbage collection policy on table rows. We have to write workers to delete old data now.

  8. aggregated data using REST call

    hi expert,

    I just want to know is there any way to get aggregated data using REST call form azure table storage.

    for example: In my table : test there are two properties Key and Value and suppose key have key= "CPU" and value = 10; or key ="Memory" and value = 90 and so on (similer key) ...so when i call using REST it response all data of CPU and Memory in XML but i want aggregate data from azure storage when i request call using REST . I dont want that first get all data locally then perform…

  10. Increase storage account create calls per subscription limit

    “RDFE throttles the storage account creation; the default throttling limit is 20 per subscription per hour "

    Most of our automation creates storage account on the fly and they fails with following reasons

    "The maximum number storage account creations calls allowed for a subscription in an hour has been exceeded. Please try again after some time."

  11. Support entity group operation but without transaction

    Current Table Storage supports only "Transaction" behavior (that is to say all or nothing). It's not possible to have a ContinueOnError behavior while processing entity group operation without transaction, which can be rather painful in some situations.

  12. Performance of Azure Table Storage Degrades with More # of Columns in Azure Table

    Hi,

    When we are having Azure table with 150 + Columns performance of really degrades. For Example : If i have Customer table with 150 Columns and I need to transform Customer Table with specific 25 columns to CustomerDTO object,

    Here is the following code used to convert Table object to DTO Object

    public IEnumerable<T1> ExecuteQuery<T, T1>( string predicate )
    where T : TableEntity, IDomainData, new() //T is Customer Table Entity
    where T1 : new() //T1 is CustomerDTO
    {
    Type typeParameterType = typeof(T);
    CloudTable tableReference = tableClient.GetTableReference(typeParameterType.Name);
    var query = new TableQuery<T>();
    query.SelectColumns = typeof(T1).GetListOfPropertyNames();//Gets the Property list of target…

  13. Implement the generic TableOperation.Retrieve<T>() in WinRT library

    Currently this methods is only supported in the full .NET 4.0 library. In WinRT version only TableOperation.Retrieve() exist. the Please consider to implement it too in the WinRT library.

    Thanks,

  14. Tool that can help migrate existing on-premise relational database to Azure table storage

    This tool should understand the on-premise relational database schema and generate equivalent tables in Azure table storage (with rowkeys as current primary keys and partitionkeys based on the indexes on the current relational table).

  16. Please have SAS URLs for a range of tables!

    I see people like myself resorting to stupid hacks in order to workaround the fact that there is no way to give access (including create table permission) to a *range* of similarly named tables within a storage account.

    I want to do e.g. table.GetSharedAccessSignature(urlPolicy,
    tablePrefix: "TablePrefix",
    startPartitionKey: _partitionKey,
    startRowKey: null,
    endPartitionKey: _partitionKey,
    endRowKey: null);

    Please could you just add a first-class way to do this with SAS tokens?

  17. Support $filter on merger, update.

    Supporting $filter on merge and update would reduce the number of roundtrips when doing conditional mutation of an entity based on properties in addition to PK and RK.

  18. Allow for copying spanned blobs

    We have needed to delete/create a number of VMs for a variety of reasons - change affinity group, vnet, data center, you name it. It's easy enough with single disk blobs. Unfortunately this doesn't work with spanned or striped disks. I drop all the disk spans from the VM, but cannot reassemble on the next VM.

  19. Improve table projection

    Table projection is great, however using query-select produces a side effect with entities that don't have the properties defined, as these aren't returned in the resultset.

    Query-select should narrow returned properties, not entities...

  20. Ability to set Proxy Server

    Allow the ability to set the proxy server for requests on windows azure storage

    I will say yes you can set the global but this isn't always ideal in all environments.
