  3. Azure Storage Explorer

The customer finds that the storage size is growing too fast and wants to go through the directory size list. can we provide a function to compute the total storage size of a folder for ADLS gen2? current version has 'Folder statistics' for common storage type, but for ADLS Gen2 is not supported this feature. Can we add this feature?

  4. Azure Storage Explorer: bulk change access tier

Azure Storage Explorer allows me to change the tier of a single file by right click and select new tier.

ex: change from hot to archive, or archive to hot etc.

I'd like the ability to change the access tier multiple files at once, or a whole folder of files.

  5. No CLI for FileSystem creation in Azure Storage Gen2 account type

No support with CLI for Azure Storage Gen2 account types. Limited support to automate the infrastructure as code feature.

  6. Cannot download macOS Azure Storage Explorer from web site

On the web site at https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/features/storage-explorer/, if you select macOS and click the "download" button, the windows (.exe) version is downloaded instead of the macOS version.

  7. I would like to feedback Microsoft to add new feature on ADLS Gen2 to allow to add Group using Group name.

I would like to feedback Microsoft to add new feature on ADLS Gen2 to allow to add Group using Group name. Because now we can use only object id which it is difficult to maintain. It is very good if we can both object id and group name.

  8. Azure Storage Explorer - View Blobs by Date

I use an old tool called Azure Storage Explorer 6 and it displayed all the blobs within a container without any subfolders by date. I use the logging available in an Azure web app to log to blob storage and this creates all sorts of subfolders so it is difficult to find the logs.

Can this functionality be built into the Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer?

  10. Azure Storage Explorer Preview Bug

Created an access policy for an Azure Table then went into Storage Explorer (Preview) and attempted to create a Shared Access Signature, I am not able to click Create after selecting the access policy drop down for my created policy, only if I use the (none) option and specify the settings. I need to use the installed version of storage explorer still for this.

  11. Add compare functionality to Azure Storage Explorer

Would be useful to be able to compare storage accounts/containers/folders/files and choose to sync either way or selectively. Doesn't need to show differences internal to the files just that one is different to another and meta such as newer or older, size, etcetera.

  13. Azure Storage explorer should have an option in the UI to cascade security settings to child files for Azure Data Lake storage. (gen 2)

We can use the CLI to achieve this, but it would be useful from an admin perspective to be able to do it via a UI

  14. Enter deep directory structure with single doubleclick

Some folder structures are very deep. Example: Stream Analytics execution logs.

I need to doubleclick 11 times to enter the folder structure /insights-logs-execution/resourceId=/SUBSCRIPTIONS/MYSUB/RESOURCEGROUPS/NORTHEUROPEINFRA/PROVIDERS/MICROSOFT.STREAMANALYTICS/STREAMINGJOBS/ARSTREAMANALYTICS/y=2019

and after each doubleclick I need to wait a while to let the UI update before doubleclicking again.

It would be nice if it was possible to open all subfolders until there is a branch possibility.

    Github has this feature. Example:
    https://github.com/microsoft/CorrelationVector-Java/tree/master/src
One click takes me to main/java/com/microsoft/correlationvector

  16. Exception in UI when container has $ in name

using blob storage to host static web content. when enabled the portal creates a container with the name "$web"

in storage explorer, expand the blob storage node that has the $web container and CRASH.

exception: Container name format is incorrect.

    see attached screenshot

  17. Allow tables to be deleted via the Storage Explorer Application.

Deleting Azure Tables via Storage Explorer should be a simple highlight-and-delete process akin to File Explorer's selection abilities on Windows. Applications such as Cerulean File Explorer and Powershell scripting allow for this.

  19. You Urgently Need To Heavily Improve Accessibility for 10,000's of Blobs!

Did I really just download and install a tool that's just a web wrapper and offers no extra functionality over the like-named function in Azure portal?! This s*cks!
I'm afraid of clicking 'Load More' more than 100 times for seeing all blobs of my storage account! Why there's no 'load all', 'jump to the end', or 'disable pagination'? Where are the sensible filters apart from name (e.g. date)?!

  20. Renaming a 'folder' places blobs in the wrong place

If you have a 'folder' named say 'level1/level2/level3', if you rename 'level3' to 'level3renamed', the blobs it contained are incorrectly moved to 'level1/level3renamed' instead of 'level1/level2/level3renamed'. It isn't possible to work around this by entering 'level2/level3renamed' as the rename target, since including a '/' disables the button.
