  1. immutability

    Immutability at the object level is really missing here. It's a huge drawback compared to the competition.

  3. Table diagnostic setting should not be flagged by policy for Standard Blob Storage

    I have some policies that use to set the diagnostic setting for all available service's diagnostic setting in each kind of Azure Storage Account.

    And my policies can detect the Table service in BlobStorage but the policy cannot do anything at all (e.g. do remediate to enable the diagnostic setting).

    I understand that Table service is not supported in BlobStorage. In the Premium type it will not be flagged by policy as it should be, but in the Standard type it still be flagged even Table diagnostic setting has been disabled. And we can get the table service via the…

  4. Expand Lifecycle Management Policy blobIndexMatch queries to support dynamic symbols

    Today, if I want to run a recurring (daily) lifecycle management operation that queries for all blobs that contain an index tag greater than the current date then I have to do so in-code because the lifecycle management policies don't support dynamic symbols to represent things like the current date.

    Lifecycle Management Policies could be significantly more powerful if they supported a blobIndexMatch query like:

    { "name": "DueDate", "op": ">=", "value": "@date"}

  5. Allow custom output path for Blob Inventory

    Currently the inventory output is generated under the following path: https://<accountName>.blob.core.windows.net/<inventory-destination-container>/YYYY/MM/DD/HH-MM-SS/<ruleName>. It should allow the path to have a "prefix" so the output is not placed directly in the root directory of the destination container. E.g. https://<accountName>.blob.core.windows.net/<inventory-destination-container>/<prefix>/YYYY/MM/DD/HH-MM-SS/<ruleName>

  6. Allow anonymous read access to blobs should have an option to bypass firewall rules

    With public blob access scenarios e.g. as a CDN origin, use cases exist for permitting read access to the blob without the associated risks of enabling public network access to the entire storage account. Whilst management of the account and write access would be restricted by authentication methods, security principles must restrict this level of access to permitted or known networks. Restricting the networking options of a storage account then deny connections for anonymous read access blobs.

    I propose networking options should have "allow any network read only access to all anonymous public blobs/containers"

  7. Support find blobs which without any tag

    I'm glad blob index tags feature is generally available now.
    I have massive blobs (more than 50000) inside a container.
    Few of them are without tag. I would like to find them.
    Currently, I think the only way is query all the blob. and filter it out one by one in my local process.
    That takes lots of time. (5 mins just for querying blob)

    Can we have a simple query method to get the list of no tag blobs?

  12. Query Accelerator in DataLake not working for GroupBy, OrderBy, TOP clauses

    While we doing POC for Azure data lake CDM query option using query accelerator we have found couple of basic query options not working. Does anyone have any idea on this?

  14. Prompt user to authenticate to access blobs

    In the last year or two, support was added for authenticating access to blobs using AAD credentials. This supports tools like AzCopy and Storage Explorer. However, it would be much more convenient for users if they could access a blob using its URL in a browser and be prompted to authenticate.

  15. Support for JSON format at API Responses

    Enable JSON format support at blob storage API HTTP response.

    Example, instead of:

    HTTP/1.1 404 The specified resource does not exist.
    Content-Length: 223
    Content-Type: application/xml
    Server: Blob Service Version 1.0 Microsoft-HTTPAPI/2.0
    x-ms-request-id: dbe27af2-701e-0045-0939-c25bc5000000
    Date: Tue, 24 Nov 2020 08:10:19 GMT

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><Error><Code>ResourceNotFound</Code><Message>The specified resource does not exist.
    RequestId:dbe27af2-701e-0045-0939-c25bc5000000
    Time:2020-11-24T08:10:20.8064839Z</Message></Error>

    Using a querystring option or using a "x-ms" specific header to obtain:

    {
    "Error":{
    "Code":"ResourceNotFound",
    "Message":"The specified resource does not exist. RequestId:dbe27af2-701e-0045-0939-c25bc5000000 Time:2020-11-24T08:10:20.8064839Z"
    }
    }

  16. Suport access conditional in Get Block List API

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/storageservices/get-block-list#request doesn't support optimistic concurrency. So I can't set ETag validation on request.

    Is it possible to add support for that?

    Thanks.

  17. Atomic directory swaps (move directory over existing directory)

    ADLS gen2 was built around an idea of a Filesystem-like hierarchical namespace, supporting atomic directory metadata operations.

    Atopic substitution of an entire directory or its subdirectory (table partition) is a major load pattern for Data Lakes allowing a safe and performant mechanism for maintaining data integrity.

    As of today (March 2021), based on our experimentation with Azure CLI, it does not allow atomic move of one directory on top of another existing directory (replacing it) - it throws an error. One is required to delete an old directory first, and then move the new one. This is a non-atomic process…

  18. Provide APIs for delete blobs by prefix

    The blobs saved inside a container can be organised into different directories. But currently, if we have to delete all blobs inside a directory programmatically (we use NodeJS SDK) we have to first list all the blobs with prefix path and then delete all blobs one by one. If there is a feature similar to list by prefix to delete by prefix then it would have made the whole process simpler. The Storage Explorer already support deleting all the blobs inside a directory by filtering by prefix, select all and delete. If the same is exposed via a method in…

  19. Specify access tier while copying files in Data Factory

    Could you make it possible to specify access tier(hot,cold,archive) while copying files from storage account to another in Azure Data Factory?

  20. Visual studio subscription storage account constraint

    I have created a storage account on azure , but it is not allowing to upload file more than 2mb and any non csv file. Is this an issue with visual studio subscription.
