  1. Attach VHD(x) to more than one VM at the same time

Attach VHD(x) to more than one VM at the same time

Having an option to attach the same VHD to a set of VMs would allow creating real HA clusters for single node applications - like databases. Storage could work just like iSCSI/FC/SAS SAN, being presented to two nodes, mounted on one. Also that would allow usage of GFS/OCFS2 filesystems to share data between cluster nodes if desired. AzureFiles suffers from every problem SMB have and is unreliable at best. The only other option is shared-nothing filesystems like moosefs/glusterfs.

as far as I know there is "Shared VHDX" functionality in…

  2. Display OS Disks and VM Images in Delete storage account blade

    There's many 'cannot delete storage resource' questions caused by OS disks or VM image references such as below;
    - https://feedback.azure.com/forums/217298-storage/suggestions/10976463-failed-to-delete-storage-account-10-51-am-failed-t
    - http://stackoverflow.com/q/34362904/361100

It would be good to provide VM disks and OS images information in "Delete storage account" blade summary page.

  3. Allow for copying spanned blobs

We have needed to delete/create a number of VMs for a variety of reasons - change affinity group, vnet, data center, you name it. It's easy enough with single disk blobs. Unfortunately this doesn't work with spanned or striped disks. I drop all the disk spans from the VM, but cannot reassemble on the next VM.

  4. improve download reliability for exporting VHD's from unmanaged disks

When recently trying to backup our test environment VM's from Azure, we ran into issues exporting VHD's from unmanaged disks, which only allowed us to export and download the VHD using an HTTP URL. The download would fail sometimes only seconds into the download, and other times a half hour or so in, but at 2 MB/second, the TTL on the URL would usually expire before we could re-initiate the download, and due to frequency makes it impractical to use. After working with support, they advised we can move the data from an unmanaged disk to a managed one and…

  5. Azure Backup of single drives of a VM in Azure

It would be nice if I could select drives to have a backup of with Azure backup of VMs in Azure.
Example: Fairly large VM with SQL2012 or newer installed.
That way I could let Azure backup handle OS and let SQL do backup directly to storage account and have SQL handle retention etc..
This will also allow to differentiate between retention for OS and for SQL data.

  6. Ability to specify IP range in the SAS URL when exporting Managed Disk

Managed disks is really great feature, however it seems that user can't specify IP ranges from which to accept requests in SAS URL when exporting the disk.

  7. Import/Export Service Add ability to prepare already copied data to the drive for importing to Azure. Our application have some data storag

Import/Export Service: add ability to prepare already copied data to the drive for importing to Azure.

Our application have some data storage, and we do not copy data from disk to disk.
We read data from our storage and want to write it as a stream directly to device, which will be shipped to Azure.

For using WAImportExport tool we must write it on local drive and then copy through this tool. There is a lot of data, so we need additional storage to copy it local. This does not suit us, we want to avoid this.

    And of course…
