Autoscale based on topic-subscription length
Instead of autoscaling on queue length, i would like to be able to scale on topic-subscription length
I think we’ll be able to do this in ARM (new portal) at some point. Keep voting for it! I want to do this too.

This would require a metric in Azure Monitor for subscription depth first which i not there unfortunately.
Its been 2.5 years. Expected kind of an update to this matter..........
This is super important for messaging based enterprise applications with topics/subscriptions.

Is this ever happening :)?

Yes, and ideally this should work for webjobs within an web app. Not just cloud services. Cloud services are annoying since I need to run the simulator locally.
Also, consider whether this is applicable to event hub consumers as well.

A third party service called CloudMonix (successor to AzureWatch) will allow auto-scaling or alerting based on one or many topic-subscription lengths. More info at http://cloudmonix.com
