Virtual Machines

both onpremises and Azure VMs should be able to join domain from WAAD. User login acconts should connect with WAAD like liveID Accounts.
Currently WAAD is just a passive copy of on premises AD. Which gets information through DirSync. But neither can Azure VMs connect to that and join its VMs to that AD and also users with windows 8 cannot connect their login accounts to WAAD accounts like they can with liveID accounts. I suggest even end users laptops should as well connect to WAAD account so that machines can get the policy from WAAD. WAAD should increase the reachout of onpremises AD, instead of just being a passive copy

Allow legacy win2003 servers to execute in Azure

This is a bit of a challenge as most Win2003 servers are still 32 bit which is not supported in Azure at this time.

Found a bug creating VM's in Azure
When creating new Virtual Machines from Gallery (Standard Windows 2012 R2 Datacenter)
On Page 3 there is a problem attaching the new VM's to a Virtual Network. But if I change the Cloud service (DDL) to an existing Cloud service, the Network information is displayed. After that I can change it back to auto generate a new Cloud Service. But keep my Virtual Network configuration.
It would be nice if the Virtual Network where visible from the beginning when creating many virtual machines in a network.
See screendumps that is attached.
Best regards,
Tobias Jonsson1 voteWe will take a look. Thanks!

Virtual Machine with Visual Studio & SQL Express on it
I love the idea of developing in the cloud and as a developer who is just gettting started I would like to have an image that has Visual Studio Express on it along with SQL Express. This would allow me to quickly get going, get money then buy a MSDN :-)

Great Idea. We will work with the VS team to see if we can enable VS Express in an image.

Support OLAP
Azure really ought to support an OLAP service. HDInsight/Hadoop are, well, OK, I guess, for offline reporting on distributed datasets, but they're a heck of a long ways from the ease-of-use, speed, and realtime analysis that you get with OLAP and MDX.

We will take the suggestion into consideration.

Do not truncate VM warning messages, or add alerts/message to Virtual Machine page
If a VM is stopped but not shut down, a message is displayed at the top of the Virtual Machine details page. Due to text size, this message may be truncated (mine informed me "You're still being billed for compute and time resources even though this virtual machine is...").
It should be possible to view the full text of this message somewhere. Either by making the message more intelligent, or by adding a warnings/messages log somewhere.

Bug: Failed to delete the virtual machine.
I had two VMs in a Cloud Service named DC1 and DC2
I deleted DC1 and then tried to delete DC2, each time checking the "Disks" box for items to also delete.
DC1 deleted successfully, and DC2 errored with this message:
Failed to delete the virtual machine. That's it. I guessed it's because DC2 was the last VM in the Cloud Service.
The second time I tried to delete the VM, I noticed the Cloud Service was also selectable in the "other items to delete" check boxes.
This time the delete was successful, and I had a second notice for…

Special offer for those working on second source of income
Having a full-time job and trying to create a second source of income, it would be great offer if there was something like a "cloud-office-package".
Some package that includes P2S-VPN, 1-2 Small VMs (2012 Server Essentials for example) , and a bit of a storage.
All that for lower pricing than the sum of the single parts, would be great for hobbyist and off-fulltime-starters.
The azure cost of this scenario summarized over a year currently goes far above some piece of hardware + licensing, if I'd put it below my desk.1 vote -
Microsoft Software Reactivation after VM shut down and restart
Currently any Microsoft software installed on an Azure VM does not support retail activation because everyday if the VM is shut down from portal, then restart, the software require re-activation. (Unless we have setup KMS which takes quite an effort for support), please fix this so that Azure will be a better platform to choose from compare to other similar cloud services (i.e. A - W - S, etc.)
1 voteWhat software are you having difficulties with? Office retail (like Word, PowerPoint) is not support to run inside Azure VMs, which might be your problem.

Stop charging for VM's that have never been logged on to. I'll be closing my account because of this.
1 voteHey Jeff,
I am sorry to hear about the problem here. Can you explain a bit more about what happened? You created a VM and then did not log in and got charged?

Fix link on error message for server not stopped on capture VM
In a VM on the Azure portal, click Capture on a non-stopped vm. Click the down arrow to expand the message. Click learn more link. Link heads to a generic microsoft.com page rather than an article.

I can't launch A8 Type in San Antonio Region.
I had try four times in different time.
But I still can't launch A8 type VM.
Could you check out that?Thanks
1 voteThanks for the feedback. Right now, San Antonio does not support the A8/A9 sizes. We are constantly looking to increase our size options in the regions but right now, this isn’t available there.

Enable to manage your own endpoint list.
Allow to manage (add/edit/change endpoints) to the default presented endpoint list. Example I from time to time need to enable special endpoints times in a repetitive manner. this will allow save my settings in the cloud and avoid me to keep a record of the settings I use.
A option to reset to default will be also handy.

We plan to enable this type of repeatable updates in a future release.

Oracle Database VM for BizSpark Subscribers
I want to ask that if it Oracle Database VM is not for Biz Spark subscribers then why it is displaying in our VM list?
Do you think that it is a good practice that first you give option to your customers to create oracle DB VM then ask him to delete that VM ignoring that he have some saved work in that VM.
I think this is your system bug. Thanks
