  1. Allow groups of machines in different availability sets be linked so maintaining availability of a whole group is prioritised.

When using third party software it is not always possible to design services in a way required by availability sets.

I need a way to group machines from different availability sets so that at least one whole group is always up.

    Consider servers organised as below:

AV Set | GroupA | GroupB | GroupC
    Set1 | Svr1A | Svr1B | Svr1C
    Set2 | Svr2A | Svr2B | Svr2C
    Set3 | Svr3A | Svr3B | Svr3C

I need to ensure at least one group of servers stays up. The design of the application does not facilitate using load balancers between the…

  2. Could able to create VM from a custom VM Image created in old portal

I tried to create a VM using Azure ARM power-shell, where i could not able fetch the reference of the Custom Image created in Old Portal.
However, there is a known bug exists at New Portal that you cannot create a VM from custom in New Portal

  4. How attach Data Disk for /opt folder

As OS hardening process, I want to attach Data Disk for /opt folder, as there is no single user mode to move the existing /opt files in to Data Disk and mount volume for /opt folder.
How to mount extra Data volume for /opt folder?

Even I tried by De-Provision the VM and attach the OS Disk to other, Then Copied the /opt files from the OS disk into a new data disk and make entry FSTAB(OS Disk FSTAB file) entry to mount new disk on boot. Then I provision the VM with that disk attached, everything in vein.
    please…

  5. may be bug

    Hi,

I have created a instance of virtual machine named 'ark-java8' for test.
after the test, I deleted it.

and I created another instance, and deleted it, too.

again, I create another instance, it's name is 'ark-test-kk'.

But its instance name is set to 'ark-java8' and DNS host name is 'ark-test-kk.cloudapp.net'.

It will be shown in a image attached. Left top is 'ark-java8' and Bottom right is 'ark-test-kk'.

    I think it is bug.

    with best regards,
    koichi kurahashi

  8. vip

Permit a limit increase where a deployment requires more than 5 VIPs. This would be beneficial for customers that host multi-tentant applications with more than one public site name.

When creating an ACL Endpoint I always have to google the CIRD values. will be helpful to have table like this to pop up. or an option to generate the CIRD based on a range.

  10. When will the new portal be complete?

Every resource that you can add in the new portal seems to be v1 not v2 as there are no add buttons for the v2 resources. Seems like it's taking a very long time for Microsoft to allow creation of ARM resources in the new portal. Trying to learn in Power Shell but not much documentation out there for ARM resource implementation. Can't find a single book on Amazon or Barnes and Nobles and when I do find a tutorial it's incomplete and lacking good examples. I have been over at GitHub looking at the templates but even they are…

  13. Remember field values when switching blades

When I switch between blades, all of the values I entered get lost. It's great to have the same blades reopen, but it would be nice if my values were saved :(

  14. make it possible for users (no co-administrators) to receive maintenance emails, as certain third parties might need this information also

At the moment, some of our azure VM's are being used by a third party. They are setup as a user, but only allowed access to the parts of our deployment using the new portal. As it is now, we need to manually forward the maintenance emails to them. Because of vacation time and some changes in personell, it is possible that no one is available to forward these messages. If people would be able to subscribe to these maintenance emails, the risk of unknown reboots would be negated.

  15. Endpoint API calls are dropped silently (via salt-cloud)

When I add multiple endpoints one after each other, some of them are dropped silently...
I get an OK response for all calls, but only some are executed in the end, so I have to repeat and repeat until all my endpoints get created?

This really sucks and I think this is related, that there can be only one add-endpoint-call at the same time (which takes 1-2 minutes)... and this also sucks!

  17. Create VM Resource Group Filter

The NEW+ button needs to create the object in question in the location of the current pane I have open. Not start at the beginning without any context of where we were at to begin with in the UI.

That aside, when you select Create VM, then select Resource Group these NEED to be filtered by Subscription! I don't want to look at 100 Resource Groups from all the other subscriptions on our account making it extremely time consuming to locate the appropriate one.

  19. Increase the number of data disks on g-series machines

The smallest G-series machine costs ~$500 a month but is limited to just 4 data disks. This doesn't make any sense. The machine costs 2X an A3, has 3X the local storage as SSD and yet is limited to a max of 4x500 IOPS, where as a standard A3 can do 8 drives.

My suggestion - Make G-Series machines support a minimum of 8 drives. I think the premium price justifies this.

  20. Very dissapointed with Azure

After several weeks working with Azure VMs (linux, windows) I can say that I am completely dissapointed by the performance and stability of VMs, and the management around. I tried to run a cluster of Hadoop for dev/test purposes, but right now Azure is not able to deliver a usable solution. Main problems:
    * VMs not starting, or starting 30-40minutes
    * login into VM - after typing name, 20 sec delay
    * backup and restore of VM - I lost the VM completely
    * different information between PowerShell and Portal (shell telling me VM is running, Portal showing the VM as…
