[Request] Please enable users to configure VM reboot alert from Management Portal.
We can’t realize unexpected VM reboot before reporting the issue from users. Please enable users to configure VM reboot alert from Management Portal.
Microsoft Azure has some VM monitoring feature, such as CPU, Disk I/O, Network I/O and Web Endpoint, but we can't use it for VM reboot alert. We can use third party tools or OS settings, but it isn't easy way.- Japanese

Support ECDSA SSH public key
It does not correspond to the ECDSA ssh key.
Can you support the ECDSA ssh key in order to be more secure ?13 votes -
Allow parallel execution of RunCommand
Currently the Azure RunCommand only allows a single command to be executed at a time. It is also quite slow to start executing. It would be nice to have the command start executing faster and be able to run multiple commands in parallel.

Should be able to copy snapshots between regions in Azure Portal
You have a powershell script to do this documented here:
However, it would be much more convenient if you exposed this functionality via the Azure Portal.

Thanks for the feedback. If folks could vote on this to help determine whether this is a common environment required for PHP development.

Provide a way to backup/download VM VHD
As a user, I have setup my ubuntu VM from gallery. Configured it as per need. But now I would like to download copy of .VHD to save it as backup and also try changes locally first

Support ecdsa public key under the SSH configuration
Can we support ecdsa public key under the SSH configuration when deploying Linux VM from Azure Portal or ARM template.
Currently the restriction is that only RSA keys are supported in the SSH configuration and it will give error if we use ecdsa public keys:
'message': 'The value of parameter linuxConfiguration.ssh.publicKeys.keyData is invalid.'Is there a roadmap?

Show the assignment list of device path for data disks.
We didn't find the assignment list of device path for data disks.
We want to check this data more easily. For example, we can find the assignment list in the management portal.disk name A - \sdc\
disk name B - \sdd\ etc...7 votes -

Halt (shutting down) does not stop or delocate Linux virtual machine
When i issue Halt on an Ubuntu vm the machine turns off and does not work but the portal still shows it as running ? Is this the expected behavior even if the vm is non operational.

Can we have a way to get the log file when VM failed to boot up ?
I found it is very difficult to find out what happen without a log file when vm fail to boot up.
I spend a lot of time only to figure out what I had changed since last time I make it boot up.You can log the virtual console to a file that we can click a button to get it.
5 votesThis is great feedback. Let us dig into what this would entail to pull out these logs as part of our logging system.

waagent - allow swap size as percentage
Please add a waagent setting to allow swap size on resource disk to be specified as percentage - either percentage of resource disk size or percentage of total physical memory .
Reason: It would enable a single custom image with swap settings specified that can be used on multiple VM sizes.

Getting weird error while creating VM
When I try to provision an VM, the protal shows progress as 'provisioning'. But then I see some error on the notification bar at the bottom, "Windows Azure is currently performing an operation with x-ms-requestid xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on this deployment that requires exclusive access". It is EXTREMELY annoying. And apparently there is no solution to it except waiting for 3-8 hours.

Save ssh public key in azure profile
When creating a Linux virtual machine in Azure, there is a choice of authentication type between password and ssh public key. When selecting the ssh public key, I have to paste in my public key. Everytime, I do this, I have to look up my public key, and cut and paste it into the dialog box. Please allow us to store multiple keys within our azure profile, and simply select the keys (plural) we wish to have included in the authorized-keys file.

Azure Fence agent
Azure Fence agent - Need to reduce the failover time from 10 -15 Minutes to minimum
If you do not want to invest in one additional virtual machine, you can also use the Azure Fence agent. The downside is that a failover can take between 10 to 15 minutes if a resource stop fails or the cluster nodes cannot communicate which each other anymore.

indicate through the cli/portal when a instance is actually reachable.
The cli json output only indicates when the provisioningState: "Succeeded" however there is no indication in the json or through "az vm list" when the instance is actually reachable (via ssh or RDP).
This is particularly important when you created an automation workflow dependent on when the instance is reachable. The reach-ability is quite variable dependent on whether it is a GPU instance (NC or NV) or one of the compute (F -series) instances.
