Support Direct Access in Azure
Today it is not supported to use the Remote Access Role in a Windows Server in Azure. It would be a great Feature, if Clients Can connect via Direct Access to Azure Ressources

Adding this as a supported scenario for Azure VMs is not currently planned.

Windows 10 AlwaysOn VPN connecting to Azure VPN would be the correct modern day alternative here. Works well with the Azure VPN Gateway using OpenVPN mode, even supports Azure AD login with Conditional Access!

We are using it in Azure with no problems. It was supported before but I guess MS decided against it. Still, it's technically possible and I've been using it for the last few months actually with no issues :)

What alternative solutions are available if this is not supported by Microsoft?

This was very quietly supported last year in July then pulled in November!! Absolutely no details why it was then wasn't supported. We have multiple customers using it in Azure with no issues at all but since it is not officially supported we have stopped deploying it. Microsoft need to fix this as it is a very effective solution and many customers request it.

I'm surprised this isn't supported already. Would be really helpful to drive azure adoption at our customers

Agreed,
Its technically possible to do as is, but with some feature limitations, plus its always better to have a fully supported solution. -

This is really needed for "cloud-only" it solutions.
