Accelerate VM startup time
Startup time of a Windows VM in AWS is 1-1.5 minutes. In Azure this takes at least 5 minutes. VM Startup time is a big deal!
Thanks, Daniel, for the feedback. We are constantly working to improve VM start-up time.

I'm desperate! After more than 15 min I am still looking at the "starting virtual machine" notification. Yesterday it didn't started at all! This company makes me going crazy and will be the reason for my first heart attack.

I just tried to start an Ubuntu VM and it was "starting" for 16 minutes before I gave up and just stopped it.
The start up time used to be ok, but now getting much slower after 2 years.
Start up performance is terrible, luckily AWS and Google are doing a better job ;)
Agreed. Azure is miles behind when it comes to performance. Nearly every other cloud provider (not just Google and Amazon) has VM startup times that are less than 60 seconds. While Azure is getting even slower, it now takes 8 minutes to start a small virtual machine.
If this continues we will be migrating all our services to AWS & Google, at least they are improving.
I see no progress. Startup time seem to be even becoming slower than faster.
My linux on aws starts in 45 seconds.
