  2. Custom language for virtual machines

I want to have Windows Server 2012 in german because when I create a Server to convince someone to switch to the new version for Windows Server it is much easier to explain when the virtual machine is in our own language. I tried many things like creating my own local virtual machine with a german image in Hyper-V, sysprep it and upload it but this didn't work. So it would be very cool to choose your own language in the "Create" process. Beacuse the images are already available in the MSDN.

  3. Reduce cloud costs with Shared virtual cores for Developers and Testers

In Azure the smaller configurations of Virtual Machines (either Windows or Linux) are:

Extra Small (A0) 1 Virtual Core shared 768 MB RAM
Small (A1) 1 Virtual Core 1.75 GB RAM
Medium (A2) 2 Virtual Cores 3.5 GB RAM

You can note that Extra-Small is the only configuration with shared virtual core.

Due to SQLServer requires a minimum of 1 GB of RAM, "Extra Small" has no enought size for running IIS and SQL Server.

The "shared virtual core" option is less expensive because you pay ONLY when your VM is consuming cycles of CPU (in other words, when App…

  4. Tiered compute power, analogous to current RAM tiers.

Azure workloads are not all memory limited, nor can every job be easily refactored into a hadoop-like task. Based on current tests, it appears that the available processors are a great deal slower than personal budget laptops for various tasks.

Offering a blend of CPU/Memory options, or even a load balancer selection that uses auto-scale out based on compute bound or memory bound tasks would be a game changer.

  5. Virtual Machines Disks view must show disk size

In Virtual Machines when you switch to Disks view, it’s very useful to show each disk size! I mean a new column with this important information.
Please, this is a simple information, but helps a lot.

  6. Additional monitoring points for Virtual Machines

I would like to be able to monitor and setup notifications for problems such as low disk space on virtual machines. This is particularly important for machines that were created when the C drive was only 30GB.

  7. Allow VMS to be added or removed from a cloud service after they are created.

I'd like to be able to move my VMS in and out of a cloud service.

The cloud service is a load balancer as far as I'm concerned.

I want to be able to manage my VMS separate from it but get the benefit of load balancing in front of my applications.

  8. Extend azure cache(Preview) to be used from IaaS VMs

Currently it is not possible to use azure cache role (preview) from the web site deploy on VM that is running in IaaS.

It would be nice to make it possible

  10. Provide sorting & additional options to the "All Settings" blade for managing VMs

This is kinda two requests in one, but it would be really nice for the following settings to be made to this blade: Browse All->Virtual Machines->My VM->All Settings

    1. Alphabetically sort the "All Settings" blade
    2. Add in options to manage the Alerts, Monitoring, Pricing Tier blades that are only accessible via the primary Virtual Machine blade (I know this seems redundant, but for whatever reason, my brain really really really wants to find those options in the All Settings area.)

    Thanks in advance!

  12. Display VM Preview

Display a preview view for all VMs. This will allow admins to see when VMs are back online and ready to login after a restart and or the current state of the VM.

  13. Templates for Virtual Machines

I hate it to create a new virtual machine in the new azure portal. It takes too long to open every blade and then open another blade, close this blade and so on... So I would like to go to a resource group "Add Virtual Machine" and things like Networking and Storage are already configured. You can already choose between some resources like Website, SQL Database and Windows Server 2012 but I would like to create a custom virtual machine for example with Windows 8.1.

  15. Allow multiple concurrent users in the VM and allow printing from local printer using RDP

I am looking to use the Azure VM as a desktop machine, where I have installed a Windows application, and allow concurrent users to RDP into the VM. This way I can have my customers use my company's program on the VM as a SaaS. Currently I can only have two concurrent users (even if I change the configuration of "limit number of connections" to "99999" there is still no change. The only way to do this is to add the "Remote Desktop Services" role and feature.
I also think that the Azure VM should be able to access the…

  16. Provide UI tooling for VM upload

It is fairly difficult and complicated the number of steps needed for uploading a VM/VHD to azure. We really need a UI tool. Perhaps now that Win8 has Hyper-V built in there could be a button in the Hyper-V GUI to upload the VM/VHD straight to Azure in a nicely integrated wizard way.

  18. Stop asking me to confirm every step of creating new virtual machine

Imagine a website where you try to register and enter your details. Now imagine that website asking you if the entered name is correct. Now imagine that website asking you to confirm the name or you'll lose your changes. Now type in last name. Try typing in email. Now imagine that website asking you to confirm your last name or changes will be lost.

I'm talking about new azure dashboard new virtual machine creation. Going through this setup and having to click OK or SAVE after every submenu really drained all energy I had.

Please hire User Experience experts. (And…

  19. Cost of VM use must depend on real processor load.

Month cost of A3 with 4 virtual cores and 7GB RAM equal to month cost of 2x6 core Intel Xeon 2630V2 processor and 32GB RAM 2x1T HDD and 13T traffic limit. It's toooo expensive use Azure for demo or development purpose VMs where processor is not fully loaded all the time. But with dynamic billing can change situation.

  20. Display power status (on/off) on the server pinned to "Home" page

Could you make a symbol on the servers pinned to the "Home" page that will display if the server is on or off? Now you need to go into each server to check if its on or not. I like the Portal btw
