Allow VMS to be added or removed from a cloud service after they are created.
I'd like to be able to move my VMS in and out of a cloud service.
The cloud service is a load balancer as far as I'm concerned.
I want to be able to manage my VMS separate from it but get the benefit of load balancing in front of my applications.

VM machine should contain software library folder so time for downloading and installing will be reduce.
Comparing with Cloudshare.com
1. VM there are very less preconfigured VM's are available.
2. They provide the access through browser good one for mobile device users.
3. Share the own machine drives for data sharing with RDP VM machine should be included.
4. Deployment of Non Microsoft (MySql and PHP) website need to make easy with tool tips and tutorials.
5. Overall Good Speed in VM machine with best BCP support.
6. Thanking you for providing preview to test the environment .2 votesThis is a good idea. We will investigate this support.

All cloud service/role instances and VMs should have a thumbnail screenshot
One of the differences between VMs and physical machines is that you cannot see what's going on when RDP doesn't work, for example when the machine has locked up or when it is booting.
It would be great to be able to get a screenshot of the current state, a bit like in HyperV server.
This would help us diagnose problems.
For example, the other day I was worried that one of my VMs was taking ages to boot up. It turns out it was doing a Windows Update before RDP was available.
If I could see a screenshot, I…

Provide UI tooling for VM upload
It is fairly difficult and complicated the number of steps needed for uploading a VM/VHD to azure. We really need a UI tool. Perhaps now that Win8 has Hyper-V built in there could be a button in the Hyper-V GUI to upload the VM/VHD straight to Azure in a nicely integrated wizard way.

Add Hyper-V Replica for offsite backup
Allow us to send Replicas offsite for DR in case Azure goes down. Customers are not trusting cloud initiatives enough to move fully into the cloud without having an offsite backup.

Allow Virtual Machine's to be provisioned by providing a URL to a .OVA file
Virtual Machine's could be provisioned by providing a URL to .OVA file or other VM file formats.

implement a REST API call to be able to delete a virtual machine using its public/private ip
this will make the infrastructure one step closer to a real IaaS environment.
1 voteIs there a lot of interest in this API? Please vote it up.

Extend azure cache(Preview) to be used from IaaS VMs
Currently it is not possible to use azure cache role (preview) from the web site deploy on VM that is running in IaaS.
It would be nice to make it possible

Add VM to DC from management API
Currently it is only possible to add only new VMs to DC either through management API or powershell.
For example there is a VM, which i want to join to DC running in the same VNET and in azure IaaS. There is no way we can do that either from API or Powershell, VM needs to be added to DC manually by specifying DNS IP in IPV4 config.
It is alway important to update existing machines that are running in work group to be added to DC and VNET without bringing them down.
Also it would be useful for managing…1 voteGood feedback. We are looking to improve these APIs over time.

Improve Load Balancing Wizard
I find the process for creating a load balanced endpoint in the new azure portal to be completely counter intuitive. It's unfortunate because it's a big sore spot on an otherwise smooth experience.
My problem is that creating a load balanced endpoint doesn't behave at all the way I would expect it to. In the case where I have multiple machines and I'm setting up a load balanced endpoint for the first time why can't I just create a load balanced endpoint from the wizard without having a pre-existing endpoint?
Also why can't I edit an existing single-machine endpoint…
2 votesThis is an area we are hoping to improve soon. Stay tuned.

Have pre-built base images for Windows (and probably other OS) in Azure, to speedup the process of setting up a VM role.
Right now, creating a new base image, configuring and uploading it is a VERY time consuming (and error prone) process. Please provide pre-built images that we can upload and use immediately or customize. It would be awesome to have them available inside the Azure management portal so we don't need to download/upload them, just reference what we need and presto.
2 votesThis is alreayd in plan. More details to come as we get closer to the next VMRole release.

add the ability to use preconfigure iso images like Amazon in VM role
Give the ability in VM role to use a preconfigure iso image, like the one Amazon has available. It will make easier to use and work with the VM role

Instance(s) Down Maintenance Message
I thought it a great idea to have the Windows Azure platform automatically display a site "maintenance" message to the site vistors (web role) when the load balancer is not able to connect to any of the configured web role instances. This "maintenance" message should be customizable (HTML/CSS).

Make Windows Azure Powershell CmdLets available by Default
The Windows Azure Powershell Commandlets are very powerful and would be a welcome addition to the Guest OS.

Allow FQDN access between VM roles.
Currently I cant communicate between 2 VM roles using FQDN. I have to use ip address.

Green Computing Option
Allow me to pay a little more to host my data/services on machines that are powered by renewable energy.

Provide variable cost and cost based task running
Amazon has got this nice feature of providing variable costs based on their server load. You can get a VM going ONLY when the cost is lower that a certain threshold.
It makes perfect sense for a DB engine where lots of archiving, aggregating etc. is required and the user wants to be sure to stick to the budget.2 votesThanks for the feedback. The VM team is investigating these capabilities.

VS 2010 Guest VM Role: Runs VSw/AzureTools: Allows sandbox development via RDP.
I'd like to deploy a special role that would provide me access to a endpoint I can connect to via Remote Desktop. When I login, I'd like a Virtual Visual Studio with Azure Tools, that has a XDrive (configured via configuration) so I can do all my Azure Development without ever having to install a thing. I'll pay monthly for the compute time I use developing, and the storage to keep my projects (via XDrive).

Display VM size (S/M/L/XL) for every role on WA Portal
Create a label on the Windows Azure portal which indicates the configured VM size for each role deployed to a tenant. Customers have difficulty easily determining what is deployed in larger deployment scenarios.
