Enable client OS VM's for everybody.
More flexibility with Client OS - Virtual Machines.
Can we get a bit more flexibility with testing the client OS on Azure. Since Microsoft will charge are on a per use basis it would be great if they could extend the use of Windows 8/8.1 VM's to everybody. (So we don't have to go the large
expense of having a MSDN subscription). Thanks,
Ward

fix VM setup to disclose privacy
Make it known that these VHD's come with spyware and are not "free" but are taking your info to the 3rd party companies that publish them- it would be nice if MS kept uptodate distros so you don't have to VMDK to VHD then upload them to your blob/cloud so you can use them- all these precompiled things have privacy issues that you would never agree to if read. pls. fix this.

Provide a simple way to backup - and restore VMs without requireing downtime
At present, you can create a full snapshot of a Hyper-V VM, but not an azure VM, The current suggested mechanism (setup out at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn722422.aspx) means you take the VM down, create a disk snapshot,. This can work but means downtime, What I'd like to see is a simple New-AzureVMSnapShot cmdlet, along with a Restore-AzureVMFromSnapshot. And of course, have the functiond available in the Portal too!

Add Kaseya VM
It would be super great if Azure offered a solution for on-premise IT management solution. Kaseya enables management and automation of all of IT from a single console, including remote control, patch management, policy management, discovery, audit and inventory of IT assets, monitoring, ticketing, service desk, software delivery, endpoint security, backup, and more.

Make it easier to add an "Allowed IP Address"
With the old portal, I click on any database, then Dashboard, then "Manage Allowed IP addresses". I gave up trying to find this functionality on the Preview portal.

Custom Attributes for Virtual Machines
Consider a set of custom attributes a Customer can maintain on a Virtual Machine object in Azure.
Helpful for Automation, custom reporting, etc.
Should be easy to implement, already known in VMM and would enable Migration Scenarios.1 vote -
Avoid default public ports
Previously when creating a new VM the public port was set as Auto for the RDP and PowerShell ports -- now they are both(public and private) the same Default ports: 3389 and 5986 -- (mainly when using the preview portal in creating the VMs). Can we please have this reverted back to the random generated public port so that the VMs are more secure?

API to retrieve a VM's dependent resources
Given that I know my Virtual Machine's ResourceGuid, how can I find out the ResourceGuids of Storage, Network & Data Management components associated with that specific VM ?
This is essential to identify the total cost of a specific VM from the downloaded usage statistics CSV file.
Usage details has resource wise metrics with unique ResourceGuid and we need a way to find out the id's of resources associated with a particular VM.

Getting weird error while creating VM
When I try to provision an VM, the protal shows progress as 'provisioning'. But then I see some error on the notification bar at the bottom, "Windows Azure is currently performing an operation with x-ms-requestid xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on this deployment that requires exclusive access". It is EXTREMELY annoying. And apparently there is no solution to it except waiting for 3-8 hours.

Drop down selection CIDR (ADDRESS COUNT) selection -Virtial Network Configuration
Configuring virtual networks in the current portal is easy and straight forward especially with the help of the CIDR (ADDRESS COUNT). This is no longer available in the PREVIEW portal and will be a great addition for individual users and small businesses who are not used to the CIDR application of IP addressing or non-networking professionals.
