  1. Live migration of VM's incase of any potential failures of physical node

We have been observing virtual machines are rebooting frequently whenever there is issue with underlying physical node. This is not a good idea/option to reboot the node as the nodes are actively part of production traffic. This will leads to the inconveniences to the business and may affect.

Why don't Microsoft come up with live migration of virtual machines whenever it detects potential failure like VMWare HA does. The process of power off the VM and moving to healthy node, then powering on, not a good solution.

  2. Please vote for Termination profile

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machine-scale-sets/virtual-machine-scale-sets-terminate-notification

This helps to invoke custom clean up commands and make sure the VMSS Scale in has sufficient time to clean up and then gets terminated

  3. hyperv freebsd driver bandwidth

    https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla//show_bug.cgi?id=240945
[hyper-v] [netvsc] hn network driver incorrectly detects baudrate
I have VM with latests pfsense, I was curious why net incorrectly detects link speed ( 10 gbps instead 25gbps),
had found that baudrate was manually hardcoded in driver.
    By that line:

    ifp->if_baudrate = IF_Gbps(10);

    in:
    https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd/commit/e57ec55e201d11e94f8ef77f0eee70cbe212ca28

Since networking moving forward it would be great to detect link speeds correctly and allow more than 10 gbps in hyper-v vms.

My hypervsiros using win 2019, and QLogic FastLinQ QL41212HLCU Dual-Port 25GbE Adapters

  5. warning when changing host caching from read to none

There should be a more clearer in the azure portal when you change the host caching from read to none, because the disk is unavailable or a few minutes in the Linux VM, the warning is there when you change a disk from to read/write from read, but not when changing the host caching from read to none.

  7. Encrypting OS/Root volume and Datadisk volume of vm's spun up from custom images.

It's not idea, it's more of like a business need to implement. Encrypting volumes from marketplace images is great but it would be even useful if we can encrypt volumes if instance that is spun up from custom image. For lot of industries like telecom, health etc to maintain infrastructure up and running all time and to holding lot of sensitive data taking custom images is also critical part

  8. Need ability to reliably identify gen2 VM's

Need a property that states the generation of VMs so the second generation VMs can be identified reliably.

  10. Add support for customized VM size as build VM in Azure Image Builder

Image Builder spins up a small VM to run build by default, there should be a customize option to spin up a VMs.

  11. RHEL8 for SAP

Hello, when can we expect RHEL 8 being available under offer "RHEL-SAP" in WEUR? SAP supports RHEL8 since 10/2019. Thanks!

  12. Ensure tutorial works,

Use the sandbox service within tutorial session to allow those new to Azure to run through the tutorial process without running into permission error messages.

Currently new users don't have permissions to create new instances

  13. Get public IPs from metadata for VM Scale Sets instances

Case with the Support shows a limitation in the metadata for VMSS instances.

Indeed, it is actually not possible to get the Public IP of a publicly addressed VM Scale Set instance from the metadata.

I hope this limitation will be shortly fixed.

  15. Export VM Inventory Report with VM infomation

    Export VM List in CSV

The "Export to CSV" function in "All Resources" CANNOT export the IP Address, VM Sizing, VM Status and others VM resources information

And the information only can view but cannot export in VM page.

  17. OS selection screen when creating a new virtual machine in the Azure portal

In the OS selection screen when creating a new virtual machine in the Azure portal, two identical notations are displayed side by side for each OS version.

The investigation revealed that the top is a first generation virtual machine and the bottom is a second generation virtual machine.

We need to make improvements so that we can immediately determine if a virtual machine is a first-generation virtual machine or a second-generation virtual machine.

    The actual screen is attached.

  19. Virtual Machine template editions of Windows Server that are not datacenter editions?

I cannot figure out why all of the Virtual Machine templates are using datacenter. We are a smaller company and never have a need for those resources and it is a lot more expensive from the licensing side of things

  20. Reboot loop

Need some script to be added in run command for the reboot loop issue.

    bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes
    bcdedit /set {bootmgr} timeout 10
    bcdedit /set {bootmgr} bootems yes

Then reboot the azure VM from serial console toolbar, during the time press “FN” down to “F8” in the tool bar

Post these action, you might get the option to reboot the VM “safe mode with internet”  hit enter.
