    Please implement support for ssh-ed25519 keys for azure virtual machines

  2. Make deleting VMs faster

    Currently it takes more than 10 minutes to delete a single VM. This is too slow, please make it faster.

    Deleting a VM should be something that can be done in less than one minute like it is with other cloud platforms.

    Thanks for the valid suggestion. Your feedback is now open for the user community to upvote which allows us to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature list and also gives us insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature

  3. Support osDisk swap for encrypted VMs

    Today Azure provides a way to swap the osDisk of the VM only when the VM's osDisk is not encrypted.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/security/azure-security-disk-encryption-overview

    Should be able to support this even when the VM is encrypted using Azure Disk Encryption.

  4. New SQL Server Resource Provider not idempotent?

    It seems that the new Microsoft.SqlVirtualMachine/SqlVirtualMachines resource provider is not idempotent when deployed from an ARM template. Every first deployment succeeds and yields the expected results, but subsequent deployments time out on the Microsoft.SqlVirtualMachine/SqlVirtualMachines resource after > 2 hours.

    Currently, the workaround is to move this resource to a separate template which is kicked off only once, but obviously that's not ideal. Am I missing something, or is this a bug and should the Microsoft.SqlVirtualMachine/SqlVirtualMachines be idempotent?

  5. Swapping the unhealthy physical node at starting VM

    For running VM, "Service healing" will prevents down-time.
    On the other hands, for initiation of VM, user have to wait for VM fully starts and user cannot detect the reason why VM starts slowly.

    I would propose that Azure automatically retry starting VM on another node in case Azure detect unhealthy node events.

  6. Support for custom VM sizes

    We need more custom VM sizes besides the existing ones. Sometimes we may need more or less vCPU/RAM, which are not included in the existing VM sizes. It would be better for customers to config their prefer sizes.

  7. Allow parallel execution of RunCommand

    Currently the Azure RunCommand only allows a single command to be executed at a time. It is also quite slow to start executing. It would be nice to have the command start executing faster and be able to run multiple commands in parallel.

  8. "Windows Server 2016 Datacenter - with Containers" Hangs on Extracting "microsoft/windowsservercore" layer

    I run docker images from azure pipeline on virtual machine remotely. I have image that usese "microsoft/windowsservercore" image as base.
    I am using "Windows Server 2016 Datacenter - with Containers" on "Standard_A2_v2"/"Standard_A4_v2" size machines with "Standard SSD". Last two weeks everything was working fine. But starting from 18.02.2019 virtual machine docker run command hangs on extracting "microsoft/windowsservercore" second layer and instead of like previously run for 7-11 minutes it runs for 35, when i run command manually over RDP or from azure pipeline. I have recreated virtual machines 3 times and process still hangs. On local Windows 10 everything works…

  9. Auto-start of Virtual machines

    The way we have option to perform Auto-Shutdown while creating Virtual machines it would be good to have option to configure Auto-Start on set schedule. For example while creating VM from portal we would be able to configure virtual machine to Shutdown at 19:00 (7 PM) Auto-Shutdown feature is already there. And if we want to start those VMs automatically at lets say 09:00 AM Auto start option should be there

  10. Protected settings available in Clear text in Deployment options

    When I use ARM template and Custom Script Extensions with protected settings, these options are available in clear text in Deployment option.

    Can you fix it?

  12. Create and manage Windows VMs in Azure using C#

    Create the authorization file
    In Solution Explorer, right-click myDotnetProject > Add > New Item, and then select Text File in Visual C# Items. Name the file azureauth.properties, and then click Add.

    Add these authorization properties:

    Copy
    subscription=<subscription-id>
    client=<application-id>
    key=<authentication-key>
    tenant=<tenant-id>
    managementURI=https://management.core.windows.net/
    baseURL=https://management.azure.com/
    authURL=https://login.windows.net/
    graphURL=https://graph.windows.net/
    Replace <subscription-id> with your subscription identifier, <application-id> with the Active Directory application identifier, <authentication-key> with the application key, and <tenant-id> with the tenant identifier.

    I created the file I just do not know where to get the subscription-id, application-id, authentication-key, tenant-id.

    I need help please

  14. Flat bandwidth

    There are scenarios where the current bandwidth pricing per-use is not useful. For example some Web hosting or web application scenarios cannot have a billing that do not allow to predict costs of a VM.

    Any kind of billing based on bandwidth and not traffic will be a solution.

  16. Implement list all images by location in Azure API

    As discussed here https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/issues/28658

    API should be able to return a list of all images available by location in one request (with possible filters) instead of requiring requests for publishers, offers, SKUs and versions

    This can be done in Azure CLI and would be very good for the API too

  17. Successfully perform Windows Updates on General Purpose VM's

    When creating a Standard A1 v2 virtual machine in Azure, Windows Updates do not perform correctly. Azure Support have advised that the Virtual Machine needs to be increased in size, but i would expect all virtual machines offered in the Azure Portal to be able to perform Windows Updates...

  18. In-Place OS Upgrade in Azure

    It would be nice to see In-Place OS Upgrade in Azure. Currently we are working on a project to replace all VM with OS Windows 2008 because
    Microsoft will be officially ending its support for Windows Server 2008 R2 editions. The problem we are facing is we don't have support from vendor to reinstall the application on new platform and the only workaround offered by Microsoft are as following:

    1. Create an Azure VM that's running a supported version of an operating system, and then migrate the workload (Method 1)
    2. Download and upgrade the VHD of the VM (Method…
