  1. Azure VM limits should be visible on VM Overview page graphs

In a support case I found one of my VMs was being throttled because it was over disk write limit; the performance (other colors, not red) and limits (in red) should be on the graphs on the overview. This seriously impacts availability when VMs are being throttled and makes for an insidious and hard to understand issue. All performance limits should be visible! Please implement?

  2. History of scheduled event

For the maintenance that doesn't require a reboot, customers can know it only through Scheduled Events API.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/maintenance-and-updates?toc=/azure/virtual-machines/linux/toc.json&bc=/azure/virtual-machines/linux/breadcrumb/toc.json#maintenance-that-doesnt-require-a-reboot

Several customer requests easier way to grasp the affected resources and that history (e.g. dashboard).

  3. resize VM without reboot

Currently if you want to change the VM Size of Azure, VM is restarted. VM Resize shouldn't require downtime and it should be done in the backend. As CPU and RAM is still throttle when we use more resources then why can't we just remove the throttling limit and inform customer that VM is resized from A to D series when request is raised of resize?

  4. The target resources affected by planned maintenance

When a planned maintenance is executed, the details and impacted resources are announced toward administrator by mail.
I would like to check the target affected resources other methods exept mail.

  5. Enable AHB for RHEL and SLES in Azure

Redeployment is painful. Customers have a tendency to deploy PAYG during POC phase and then want to switch to a BYOS model to take advantage of cost savings later. Switching Linux VMs from PAYG to BYOS in Azure requires a disruptive VM redeployment to a different image. AHB for Linux would remove the need for the redeployment.

  6. API for Disk Attachments that does not require updating the VM model

Currently to attach a Data Disk to a Virtual Machine requires submitting this as a part of the Virtual Machine payload (e.g. a appending to the list of data disks).

Whilst this works when you want to define the Virtual Machine definition in a single payload, unfortunately this makes it challenging when breaking this apart into multiple payloads to provide a better user experience - which means that we've had to fake this via calling the API sequentially using locks to ensure multiple disk attachments happen sequentially.

This functionality already exists for the DevTest Labs Service - which has an…

  7. virtual machine list export to csv

When we go to All resources we can see Export to CSV button on top menu so that all the resources can be downloaded easily.

When we go to Virtual Machine there is no such functionality available.
There are lots of scripting needs to be done to achieve this and also previously we use to be able to copy and paste it into excel and it used to copy all the columns which we've selected. But that too isn't working now.

Can you please give us the functionality to export the VM details into CSV

  8. add Nvidia T4 based GPU as VM

The T4 based virtual machines are available in AWS (its G4DN line) and these are good both for ML and also graphic intense operations.

For us it enables our product to support ray tracing which is not supported in older gen GPU's

  9. Add the ability to set the max IOPS the SQL / Windows Backup Extension will utilise

There should be the ability to set the max IOPS that either extension will utilise during backup operations.

We've a SQL workload that can be adequately served by the resources of a certain VM size other than when backups are taken (as the DB is 100GB+).

When backups run our Availability Groups are flapping due to VM disk throughput throttling causing the backups to fail.

We have therefore had to upgrade the VMs just to allow the backups to run. The VMs are now significantly underutilised during BAU.

We don't have access to the SQL Server Resource Governor as we…

  11. Provide an easy way to check if the VM diagnostic logs are stored in the specific storage accounts

    Hi Team,

Could you please provide our customer an easy way to audit if the VM diagnostic logs are stored on the specific storage accounts?

We will suggest to add the new alias Microsoft.Compute/virtualMachines/extensions/settings.StorageAccount into the swagger spec, then we can use Azure Policy to audit the storage account name.

    Thanks so much.

  13. Support for Teams & SFB on Windows Virtual Desktop

With the release of Windows Virtual desktops on Azure, the multisession W10 offering does not support either of the Collaboration Tools, SFB or Teams. The support of these office apps with pass through support for peripherals is vital to make this offering viable. Please can this be looked at and delivered when the service goes public on Azure

  14. Create VM basing on parameters of one existing vm

    From PowerShell GitHub repo: https://github.com/Azure/azure-powershell/issues/11989.

It will be nice that New-AzVM supports creating VM basing on an existing VM within on cmdlet.

  15. Create an option to change a VM's availability set or availability zone in order to add it to a load balancer instead of having to delete it

It would be nice if there was an option to change a VM's availability set or availability zone in order to add it to a load balancer instead of having to delete it and recreate it in the availability zone. A feature to just reconfigure without deletion would save a lot of time and headaches.

  16. OS selection screen when creating a new virtual machine in the Azure portal

In the OS selection screen when creating a new virtual machine in the Azure portal, two identical notations are displayed side by side for each OS version.

The investigation revealed that the top is a first generation virtual machine and the bottom is a second generation virtual machine.

We need to make improvements so that we can immediately determine if a virtual machine is a first-generation virtual machine or a second-generation virtual machine.

    The actual screen is attached.

  17. Allow Cancelling a Running Command started via "Run Command"

    From this issue:

    https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/issues/12741

We should have the ability to cancel a command started via "Run Command." This would primarily be to allow a new command to be started in its place, but the ability to (possibly) actually cease the command on the server itself could also be helpful.

The ability to store common scripts and run them would help make this "I just noticed a syntax error and want to try again" problem less of an issue, but that's already covered here: https://feedback.azure.com/forums/216843-virtual-machines/suggestions/34455544-run-command-browse-azure-storage-for-script

  18. Get-AzVM does not return the correct ComputerName from the console if the host name was changed

In the VM portal the Computer Name is taken from the host name of the machine.

If you update the host name, the portal will reflect this under "Computer Name" - but querying this via Get-AzVM does not update, if you use OSProfile.ComputerName it still uses the old name

  19. Expose the kernel version as a property of VMimages

    From: https://github.com/Azure/azure-powershell/issues/10458

3rd Party programs, such as AV software describes it's pre-requisites as Kernel Versions, not just OS versions and never in terms of Azure VM Image SKUs
    e.g. RHEL 7.7 kernel 3.10.0-1062

get-azvmimage -Location eastus -PublisherName Redhat -Offer RHEL -Skus 7.7
should return an object with a property named KernelVersion or Kernel

  20. Effective route tables for VMSS

As confirmed by PG in Support case 119091125000146 there is no way to query the effective route table for a VMSS instance, thus leaving 100% VMSS based infrastructures completely blind.
