  1. Metadata service: return list of managed identities (system and user)

Enhance the VM instance metadata service to return any managed identities configured on the VM, including system-assigned and any user-assigned identities.

  2. resize VM without reboot

Currently if you want to change the VM Size of Azure, VM is restarted. VM Resize shouldn't require downtime and it should be done in the backend. As CPU and RAM is still throttle when we use more resources then why can't we just remove the throttling limit and inform customer that VM is resized from A to D series when request is raised of resize?

  3. virtual machine list export to csv

When we go to All resources we can see Export to CSV button on top menu so that all the resources can be downloaded easily.

When we go to Virtual Machine there is no such functionality available.
There are lots of scripting needs to be done to achieve this and also previously we use to be able to copy and paste it into excel and it used to copy all the columns which we've selected. But that too isn't working now.

Can you please give us the functionality to export the VM details into CSV

  4. Add additional filter options to compute Resource SKU API

This suggestion comes from the Azure SDK for .NET GitHub repo: https://github.com/Azure/azure-sdk-for-net/issues/9428.

The suggestion is to add filtering by resource type in addition to the current filtering by location.

  5. Support for Teams & SFB on Windows Virtual Desktop

With the release of Windows Virtual desktops on Azure, the multisession W10 offering does not support either of the Collaboration Tools, SFB or Teams. The support of these office apps with pass through support for peripherals is vital to make this offering viable. Please can this be looked at and delivered when the service goes public on Azure

  6. Expose the kernel version as a property of VMimages

    From: https://github.com/Azure/azure-powershell/issues/10458

3rd Party programs, such as AV software describes it's pre-requisites as Kernel Versions, not just OS versions and never in terms of Azure VM Image SKUs
    e.g. RHEL 7.7 kernel 3.10.0-1062

get-azvmimage -Location eastus -PublisherName Redhat -Offer RHEL -Skus 7.7
should return an object with a property named KernelVersion or Kernel

  7. Allow Cancelling a Running Command started via "Run Command"

    From this issue:

    https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/issues/12741

We should have the ability to cancel a command started via "Run Command." This would primarily be to allow a new command to be started in its place, but the ability to (possibly) actually cease the command on the server itself could also be helpful.

The ability to store common scripts and run them would help make this "I just noticed a syntax error and want to try again" problem less of an issue, but that's already covered here: https://feedback.azure.com/forums/216843-virtual-machines/suggestions/34455544-run-command-browse-azure-storage-for-script

  8. Include Auto-Shutdown time to Get-AzVM cmdlet

    From issue: https://github.com/Azure/azure-powershell/issues/10616

Get-AzVm command that can list other VM properties eg.AutoShutdown time, VM current status (running or stop).

  9. Effective route tables for VMSS

As confirmed by PG in Support case 119091125000146 there is no way to query the effective route table for a VMSS instance, thus leaving 100% VMSS based infrastructures completely blind.

  10. PowerShell cmdlet to quickly resize Azure Virtual Machine

Please implement a dedicated cmdlet to resize an Azure Virtual Machine without needing to update all of its model data. In Azure CLI, this is already implemented in the command az vm resize.

    Example of the cmdlet:
Set-AzVMSize -VMSize "Standard_B2ms" -VMName "VirtualMachine" -ResourceGroupName "ResourceGroup"

  11. Build feature for offline patching of VMs and VHDs

It would be great to have the ability to patch virtual machines and VHDs offline, this would enhance security and tremendously ease management of VHDs in a shared image gallery!

  12. Allow users to use the Azure serial console with the Virtual Machine User Login role instead of Virtual Machine Contributor.

Users do not need to create virtual servers and do not need to create and manage virtual machine scale sets. However, I want to manage the OS by connecting a serial console from the Azure portal.
Even in an environment where SSH connection is not possible, the Azure portal can be opened, so we want to be able to perform OS maintenance with a serial console connection from there.

  14. Add ephemeral OS disk support for Spot instance Virtual Machine Scale Sets (vmss)

In the past you could create low priority vm scale sets with an ephemeral os disk. This feature was dropped when spot instances were introduced. Please add ephemeral os disk support for spot instance vm scale sets.

  16. Virtual Machine Console Access Part Deux

The previous post suggesting the addition of basic VM functionality was inappropriately marked "completed" serial console was added.

The serial console is better than nothing, but just barely, and was not at all what was being requested by that post.

What we need is a equivalent of the VMware Remote Console.

  17. Create an option to change a VM's availability set or availability zone in order to add it to a load balancer instead of having to delete it

It would be nice if there was an option to change a VM's availability set or availability zone in order to add it to a load balancer instead of having to delete it and recreate it in the availability zone. A feature to just reconfigure without deletion would save a lot of time and headaches.

  18. Windows Virtual Desktop - User Assigned Personnel Desktop

In WVD enable the feature to assign a user to a personnel Session Host in PowerShell and the WVD Web UX

This will allow users to pre-assign users to their own VDI host in Azure that can be pre-staged with the apps that user will need, giving more flexibility to the WVD Service.

  19. CSE executed before cloud-init

    Hello,

I have an ARM template with VM + CSE script to be executed.
I've provided a cloud-init config through customData parameter.

    My cloud-init looks as follows:
    $ cloud-config
    package_upgrade: true
    package_update: true
    packages:
    - libssl-dev
    - libffi-dev
    - python-dev
    runcmd:
    - curl -sL <a rel="nofollow noreferrer" href="https://aka.ms/InstallAzureCLIDeb">https://aka.ms/InstallAzureCLIDeb</a> | sudo bash
    - az aks install-cli

Within the CSE script, I'm trying to run az login command, but I keep getting an error az: command not found.

When I ssh into VM, I can see az working just fine.

    Actual behavior

I've looked through logs, and this is what I…

  20. B Series Burstable Unlimited Mode

The B Series family should offer an "Unlimited" mode for bursting. So when a workload runs out of credits to burst, if the mode is set to unlimited, the vm will be billed at higher rate instead of just dropping down the allowed average. (Like the AWS featuer for T3)
