  1. Allow to set the value of shutdown timeout (force shutdown)

According to the current behavior, if it is not completed within 10 minutes after the stop(deallocate) operation of Azure VM, I believe that the stop will be forced.

However, it may take a lot of time due to the stop processing of process or OS task.

I hope to be able to determine the forced out timeout time ourselves.

  2. Azure VM limits should be visible on VM Overview page graphs

In a support case I found one of my VMs was being throttled because it was over disk write limit; the performance (other colors, not red) and limits (in red) should be on the graphs on the overview. This seriously impacts availability when VMs are being throttled and makes for an insidious and hard to understand issue. All performance limits should be visible! Please implement?

  3. resize VM without reboot

Currently if you want to change the VM Size of Azure, VM is restarted. VM Resize shouldn't require downtime and it should be done in the backend. As CPU and RAM is still throttle when we use more resources then why can't we just remove the throttling limit and inform customer that VM is resized from A to D series when request is raised of resize?

  4. History of scheduled event

For the maintenance that doesn't require a reboot, customers can know it only through Scheduled Events API.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/maintenance-and-updates?toc=/azure/virtual-machines/linux/toc.json&bc=/azure/virtual-machines/linux/breadcrumb/toc.json#maintenance-that-doesnt-require-a-reboot

Several customer requests easier way to grasp the affected resources and that history (e.g. dashboard).

  5. Virtual Machine Image API - Include OS disk size info

Virtual Machine Image API reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/compute/virtualmachineimages/get

    Managed Image API reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/compute/images/get

The returned objects from the virtual machine images API do not include information of the image size on the OS disk, whereas the API for managed images do include this information. This prevents the possibility of creating a solution to verify whether a potential deployment of a VM has appropriately sized disks or not based on the selected marketplace image, while this capability is present if the deployment is using a managed image. I don't see why there shouldn't have feature parity in this regard between the two API…

  6. CoreOS Container Linux end of life - Fedora CoreOS not supported on Azure

CoreOS is reaching end-of-life on May 26, 2020 and will be removed from Azure images in September 2020. Successor to that will be fedora CoreOS, however as of now it is not currently natively supported for Azure. The ask is to have Fedora CoreOS available and supported in Azure.

  7. Add VM images for Windows ARM64

Currently, there aren't any ARM64 Windows VMs available. This e.g. blocks Continuous Integration scenarios for apps that want to support Windows on ARM (for e.g. the Microsoft Surface Pro X), like NodeJS: https://github.com/nodejs/build/pull/2408#issuecomment-671707155

While cross-compilation from a x64 host is possible, it's not possible to run automated tests on the ARM64 platform until VM images become available for that architecture.

Please add VM images for Windows ARM64 to Azure.

  8. virtual machine list export to csv

When we go to All resources we can see Export to CSV button on top menu so that all the resources can be downloaded easily.

When we go to Virtual Machine there is no such functionality available.
There are lots of scripting needs to be done to achieve this and also previously we use to be able to copy and paste it into excel and it used to copy all the columns which we've selected. But that too isn't working now.

Can you please give us the functionality to export the VM details into CSV

  10. Enable to extend 35 days maintenance window in case of failure

Today, we can leverage "Planned Maintenance" to avoid any impact on VMs. But, the maintenance may fail if it cannot find appropriate resource to re-deploy a VM. It would be great if the 35 days maintenance window can be reset in that circumstance. In some mission-critical system, it's hard to secure sufficient time frequently for maintenance (let's say once a month). Thus, extending the window is needed in case of failure.

  11. API for Disk Attachments that does not require updating the VM model

Currently to attach a Data Disk to a Virtual Machine requires submitting this as a part of the Virtual Machine payload (e.g. a appending to the list of data disks).

Whilst this works when you want to define the Virtual Machine definition in a single payload, unfortunately this makes it challenging when breaking this apart into multiple payloads to provide a better user experience - which means that we've had to fake this via calling the API sequentially using locks to ensure multiple disk attachments happen sequentially.

This functionality already exists for the DevTest Labs Service - which has an…

  13. Keyvault Extension - Enable a post update script to restart services etc

We Use the Keyvault extension and it works great to auto update SSL

however on some systems (notably linux) most/all web servers don't automatically use the new cert even if it overwrites the old files - they need a service restart or similar action to take place

It would make the Keyvault extension even more awesome if one could define a config to have the extension trigger a command line task or script if and when it detects that it has pulled a new version of the certificate

  14. | Temporary Disk | Add on/off options for temporary disk when creating Azure VM

End user could ignore the DATA LOSS file on temporary disk which comes from Azure VM by default, if it's possible to add on/oof options for temporary disk when creating Azure VM?

One more thing, when the VM is using temporary disk, if it's possible to pop-up a dialog box to notify the user that the data in temporary disk could be lose after stopping/deallocating the VM? (Like the public ip pop-up diaglog in the attachment)

  15. The target resources affected by planned maintenance

When a planned maintenance is executed, the details and impacted resources are announced toward administrator by mail.
I would like to check the target affected resources other methods exept mail.

  17. Roadmap for "Azure AD login VM extension" to go GA

Looking to integrate VM login to AAD using the extension in preview described at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/linux/login-using-aad.

Technically all working swimmingly well, but the log-in includes a warning message that the feature isn't for use in production.

What's the guidance when this is expected to go GA?

Raising here as suggested in handling of support ticket #120101924005145.

  18. Make the port ip-adresses a list instead of a single input field

    Hi,
I would like a port ip-adresses to be displayed as a list where you can give each ip-adress a name. This would help me administrate the list of ip-adresses.

  19. VM size which can be allocated on real-time

When user get the error "allocation Failed" at deploying the VM frequently, the user wants the feature to check the VM size which can be allocated by Azure Portal or Azure PowerShell / CLI.

  20. Enable AHB for RHEL and SLES in Azure

Redeployment is painful. Customers have a tendency to deploy PAYG during POC phase and then want to switch to a BYOS model to take advantage of cost savings later. Switching Linux VMs from PAYG to BYOS in Azure requires a disruptive VM redeployment to a different image. AHB for Linux would remove the need for the redeployment.
