  1. Endpoint API calls are dropped silently (via salt-cloud)

When I add multiple endpoints one after each other, some of them are dropped silently...
I get an OK response for all calls, but only some are executed in the end, so I have to repeat and repeat until all my endpoints get created?

This really sucks and I think this is related, that there can be only one add-endpoint-call at the same time (which takes 1-2 minutes)... and this also sucks!

  3. Please fix mistranslation message of 'Create an image from VHD' panel.

When we forget checking 'I have run waagent -deprovision on the virtual machine' checkbox and click OK button, we'll see 'Required' message. (p1-eng.png)

However, in Japanese language, the message shows '必要なディスク容量' (p1-jp.png)
It's mean 'storage size which we require'. ...I'm confused very much.

Please fix this message, ex. '必須のオプションです'

  4. Password lengths are not well defined

When I enter a password for a new Ubuntu LTS VM instance, the Azure web interface tells me the maximum password length is 123 characters. When I make a password that long, VM creation fails and says that passwords may only be between 6 and 72 characters. Please work on making the interface and error messages more consistent.

  5. Getting weird error while creating VM

When I try to provision an VM, the protal shows progress as 'provisioning'. But then I see some error on the notification bar at the bottom, "Windows Azure is currently performing an operation with x-ms-requestid xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on this deployment that requires exclusive access". It is EXTREMELY annoying. And apparently there is no solution to it except waiting for 3-8 hours.

  6. Can we have a way to get the log file when VM failed to boot up ?

I found it is very difficult to find out what happen without a log file when vm fail to boot up.
I spend a lot of time only to figure out what I had changed since last time I make it boot up.

You can log the virtual console to a file that we can click a button to get it.

This is great feedback. Let us dig into what this would entail to pull out these logs as part of our logging system.

Thanks for the feedback. If folks could vote on this to help determine whether this is a common environment required for PHP development.

  9. BUG: Creating a Linux VM with SSH certificate from portal fails

I'm trying to create a Linux virtual machine (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, 7/25/2014 release) in a virtual network. Whenever I specify an SSH certificate instead of a password, I keep getting an error that the machine creation failed. The certificate upload succeeds, however.
This has happened in the past as well, but I didn't worry about it then since I was focused on a PaaS deployment. Please fix this! If it's a matter of some required settings combination not being met, please highlight that in the UI.

Thanks for the feedback. Right now, San Antonio does not support the A8/A9 sizes. We are constantly looking to increase our size options in the regions but right now, this isn’t available there.

  12. Retrieve VM meatdata information from within the VM

I am using Cassandra. Cassandra is a distributed DB (http://cassandra.apache.org/).

Every record is replicated across a configurable number of nodes.
To ensure HA the nodes holding the replicas are selected in different racks. In the Azure cloud the analogy of a different rack is a different Update Domain (for comparison in AWS the analogy is different Availability Zones).
    See more information here http://www.datastax.com/documentation/cassandra/2.0/cassandra/architecture/architectureDataDistributeReplication_c.html

The nodes communicate with each other in p2p protocols and share the "rack" information among themselves. Every node is aware of the network topology of all the other nodes in the cluster including which rack…

Thanks for the feedback. Improved reporting from within the VM is something we will look at improving.

  15. Auto-mount file share when storage access keys are refreshed

Currently, to mount azure file share on Linux VM, we use mount command provide storage access key. If someone refresh their storage access keys, they need to un-mount the file share and then re-mount it. There should be an easier approach to handle this scenario. This become pain when you have auto-refresh policy in your organization.
