  1. B Series vms need and option for higher IO

B Series vms need and option for higher IO. Many bursty workloads need the additional IO in conjunction with the CPU. Less usable otherwise.

  2. Azure Windows VM "Connect" button in portal should launch via URL instead .rdp download

Azure Windows VM "Connect" button in portal should launch via URL instead .rdp download using https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/remote-desktop-uri notice that this also works on Mac...

Problem with current way... It's annoying to download file and after it's download also 2x click it to open. I also have 20+ .rdp files in downloads folder...

  3. Review GS series prices as they are currently heavily overpriced

Currently the GS series VM's are significantly overpriced compared to the DSv2 series. For example a DS12v2 is $600 a month giving you 4cpu/28gig. However the GS2 which is $1600 a month gives you 4cpu/56gig ram. This is the equivalent of $1000 for 28gig of ram or another 1.6xDS12v2 boxes for 28gig of ram. This doesn't make sense. I'd expect a price increase of $600 to $900 for the GS2.

  4. make premium disks available for N class (with gpu) VMs

N class machines (with gpu) dont support premium disks.

Disk IO is significantly slower than aws equivalent VMs (p2)

  7. VM deployment using JSON and specialized disk does not display Computer Name

VM deployment using a JSON template and specialized disk does not

As per Microsoft support the following answer was received:

This behavior is currently by design.
The portal reads the Computer name information from the OSProfile settings section of a VM. But when creating a VM from an existing disk we don’t include this section in the template (or powershell) because this is only used for generalized images.
At the moment we cannot edit the OSProfile of an existing VM, thus the name property on the portal remains blank.

Unfortunately, although this may be by design it does not provide…

  8. DNS Domain suffix in ARM

Today it is not possible to add DNS Domain suffix on our Windows servers in our ARM script. Please add this because it is required in a AD domain to get the vm to work as it should.

I know that you can do this in powershell but we want it in a clean ARM script without custom script extension and powershell scripting.

  9. SSH support for Windows

Now that there is a Microsoft supported OpenSSH port for windows:
    https://github.com/PowerShell/Win32-OpenSSH

Please make it a first class citizen for remote access to windows machines. This isn't a complete list, but here are some of the items needed:
    * It should either be part of the base market place images, or enabled via an ARM template (like you can with WinRM)
    * Authorized keys for users should support being set via an ARM template (like you can with Linux)
    * more?

  10. Add ability to provision VM initially without a local account

In a corporate environment where all VMs are domain joined (using the VM domain joining extension) the local account is a nuisance.

    It would be nice if:
    * you could simply not have a local account at all (perhaps with the ability to add it later via the VM access extension that can be used to reset the password currently)
    * you could specify a local admin AD user/group via the VM domain join extension
    * or alternatively add a local account expiration time that you can specify through an ARM template, which would allow me to say it should…

  11. Create a Windows 10 template for consumers

    There are so many reasons!
    - Continuum obviously
    - Deliver Windows 10 for BYOD, especially Mac OS & iOS
    - Easy Cloud options for legacy x86 LoB application vendors
    - Security!
    - Use the same Windows on multiple devices and form factors - from TVs to mobile phones.

  12. Unexpected restart of Azure VMs due to Azure Healthy Monitoring system

Recently in our deployment in SE Asia (Singapore) DC, we had an unexpected restart of one of our VMs which is a Production Application Server. The Database server was fine. In 20 minutes it was back, but that 20 minute happened to be peak hours for our customers and we received quite a few brickbats on the reliability. This is 3rd such instance and it was a very tough scenario with customers who are hosted on that server.

We don't have Availability Sets configured. We also understand, Azure's SLA of 99.95% can be realized only when we configure Availability Sets.…

  13. Impossible to connect with Virtual Machine

    Hello,
I've been really trying to use Azure Virtual Machine for a few days.
I only managed to connect to my virtual machine once, and even then the machine stopped working, froze, require restart. etc, so I couldn't really use it.
It was a very bad experience and a terrible waste of my time.

Since I created machines, but couldn't use them, I would kindly ask to return my credits.
    Best regards,

  14. Licensing Included

You should display what licenses are included in the current VM, Whatever it is Windows Server, Window Desktop, Sql Server, Oracle, Visual Studio.
Licensing is very important, and we want to make sure that all licenses in use in a particular VM are being correctly accounted.

  15. Add fully patched (i.e. up to date) Windows VM templates to the gallery

Often the first thing I have to do after provisioning a new Windows Server based on a gallery template is installing all updates that have come out since that template was generated. Why doesn't Azure have up to date templates that already contain the latest patches? This would save me a lot of time.

So what I'm asking for: regularly updated templates for Microsoft OS-es that provision VMs that are fully updated to the latest patch level.

  16. Allow Windows 7 and Windows 10 Clients!

I joined Azure with the intent of setting up a complete disaster recovery network with servers and clients. But, I immediately discovered that you don't allow client PCs. This is crazy. Typical Microsoft. Will see if AWS allows Windows client computers.

  17. Let me run Windows10 UWP Apps (or code) in Azure

With Windows10 universal apps I can now run my code anywhere...except in Azure. I'd like to run that common code on a server in Azure as well.

My use case is this. I have some complex logic using Win2D and the new MediaComposition libraries that combines images, video, audio and other media into an output video. (By the way, it's too complex for Azure Media Services today.) In cases where my customers aren't on Windows 10 (or on a Windows device at all) I'd like to run that logic in Azure and let them download the results. I really don't…

  18. Customer & Sales Service

I am new to your service. I think you have great offerings, but the sales service is simply poor. For the past few days, I have tried but in vain to get through your sales/pre-sales department to get advise what Azure services will best suit my needs so i can purchase ( I am currently with digital ocena)

Can you point to the right direction please?

A point to note, that as someone new to Azure, it can be overwhelming to get started due to the sheer amount of information, and the lack of coordinated 1-stop shop help for your…

  19. Give us the ability to load windows 7, pos read 7, windows 8, windows 8.1

When it comes down to it those of us who actually use the msdn and the services, want to run and test both client and server builds, giving us access to client hardware that is on the same network as our servers would be excellent. I am in a hurting to install 2 or 3 clients windows 8.1 and pos read7 to do some actual testing. I know I can upload my own image file but it is overly inconvenient. since i have to down load the os from your servers and then convert the vhd and re-upload, when installing…

  20. Please increase the PER-VM bandwidth for F48s_v2 from 1100MB/s to 20000MB/s

    Folks,

Currently, the F48s_v2 VM is capped at 1100MB/s

    I'd like a F-series VM that has comparable aspecs to F32sv2 or F48sv2 with 20000 MB/s limit.

    WHY?
Brainlink is a leading provider of BUSINESS CONTINUITY & DISASTER RECOVERY (BCDR) to hedge funds, private equity funds, closely held construction firms and other businesses that value rapid recovery.

NONE have met our requirements for speed of recovery into the cloud.

Brainlink has built our BCDR solution on VEEAM + AZURE.

    Currently, we hold…
